Why don't you share with us your favorite games of all time? I'm sure we'd be able to pick and paw them apart in ways that don't even make sense relative to how the game is supposed to be played. Nioh is a piece of art, and I mean that literally. It's a piece of a puzzle, and you need to form and change the other piece that is your mind to fit with the game's piece. Once you do that, you'll be able to see that this game is another transcending piece of wonder that will forever change how we as people think about games, similar to Night Trap and PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS. ARIN HANSON of the Youtube comedy team Game Grumps has stated many times that immersion is overrated in video games and has no place in evaluating a game's worth, until he played Nioh. As soon as he fought some enemies with the cool whip tool, he was able to change his caveman-like brain into a puzzle piece that could combine with this piece of art. I believe that if he was able to transcend time and space to this place of love, so can you. There is a video game called Super Meat Boy. I love it. There is nothing you can do to take that away from me. There is, however, a way for you to take away my love for the Nioh. If you never find yourself feeling the fear of being one-shot sniped by big fellas while you traverse the caverns and feel the cool brush of air while sliding down the snow-capped mountains of Cold Land, I might lose faith in everything I thought I ever knew about design analytics in relation to video games. My knowledge of design analytics and having found no flaws and an abundance of strengths in Nioh is what gives me the strength to love this game. I have not been able to love anything other than my family since my divorce, and if you take this away from me, I might lose the strength to love anyone ever again. I don't know what I'll do if that happens, as I am a Christian, and we are taught to love one another. I need to be able to love, tc. So finally I call for you - not to be frustrated by the seemingly purposeless mechanic of limited stamina, blocking content off for you until arbitrary points later in the game, and instead - to find the love necessary to bend your mind and see the situation as Nioh man being weak while starting his quest. Slowly he gains strength through his adventures and his love for Nioh woman. I'm afraid, GREEN BUTTER. I'm afraid that if you can't find your love, I might just lose mine. --- "Or do you want to know more about my vagina?" *LIE* "No" ... Copied to Clipboard!

I remember not understanding the love and not bothering with the DLC. The love is from old school gamers who miss gameplay taking the main stage and everything else taking backseat. Basically the opposite of Journey fans. --- Did I amuse you? ... Copied to Clipboard!

Okay, but my issue is that the game is acting like other stuff than the gameplay actually matters, it's just really bad in Nioh. I mean in something like Super Mario Bros. literally everything is gameplay and that's great. But in Nioh it tries to hug at your heartstrings via its narrative of Ieyasu's cruelty and Mitsunari and Mitsuhide's righteousness and whatnot. And it's all terrible. If all the game is about is fighting the same five enemies over and over and the occasional boss why all this garbage narrative fluff? If there's no interest in level design why have so many long levels that are mostly all shit? Why have all this bad stuff in the game if its all ultimately fluff that doesn't matter?

That is all extremely opinionated with a side of exaggeration. Fluff is to cast a wider net. So you don't miss out on the people who will go "Im not buying a game with no story". And lol @ calling out level design in a time most games are open world with 1 setting (maybe 2). Nioh might not be the most diverse in the category but it sure as hell beats forest area after forest area or city block after city block. --- Did I amuse you? ... Copied to Clipboard!

Why have all this bad stuff in the game if its all ultimately fluff that doesn't matter? nioh felt like a bunch of devs sat down in a conf room, said "ok everyone, list qualities of a Souls game" and everyone started writing shit on the board. long levels with bonfires acting as checkpoints/safe rooms! shortcuts in each level! really hard bosses with patterns and multiple phases! leveling up by collecting souls! summoning and fighting other players! etc etc so all that shit got thrown in, but the nioh team forgot to add in the stuff that really makes the Souls games great: fun enemies, solid level design, great atmosphere, etc. in a lot of ways i feel like nioh would have been a much better game if they didnt try and copy dark souls so much --- A Green Butter Alt http://i.imgur.com/LhwwG.gif ... I don't what other games do. Nioh has abhorrent level design full of invisible walls, immersion breaking obstacles, fifty bajillion doors that can't be opened from this side and like 4 or 5 castle levels out of a total of I think 15.

Ah, sounds like your pet peeves ruined it for you. Cause aside from agreeing the levels started feeling repetitive (its a 50 hour game what do you expect?) I got about.. 5? bosses in. then proceeded to say fuck it. That doesn't surprise me. The game doesn't start off well at all and front loads one of the dumbest, most out of place worst bosses in the game as one of the first 5 bosses. >_> In fact just going with story bosses, not counting the tutorial, it basically goes: - Unreasonably damage spongey but altogether really repetitive boss - Extremely dangerous boss who will royally fuck almost everyone for awhile and be a brickwall unless they get a handle on status ailments - A yokai boss punishes you for fighting him the way it makes sense to fight yokai then in the same mission a human boss who's okay - One of the most out of place, weird bosses in the game that is just not like anything else you'll ever fight again - One of the most out of place, dumb bullshit bosses in the game filled with instant kill BS, fall deaths and will be a massive tedious slog to kill if you don't look up a way to trivialise it And then after that it finds its identity and is mostly fine. --- I am snazzier, hot, hot rant. I never had an issue with Hino-enma. In the beta I killed her on the first try and the twilight version in the second try. When the actual game came out I think I needed 2 tries. Never been a boss I've had issue with. Onryoki always has and will be a much huger pain to me and everyone says he's super easy. Which he is now that I mega outlevel him and he's just a subboss wheneer I encounter him.
