Wilbur is bitching at Ed to "get a job". Da hayull? He's a motha fuckin' talking Horse. Just set up a museum or something around him, or claim he's a talking clairvoyent horse, and make him give fake fortune telling.

Da hell is wrong with Wilbur, that greedy ass. If you don't want Ed, then send him off to the Glue Factory.

Literally has a money making attraction, who he could exploit for millions of dollas, yeah, yeah, yet he wants Ed to get a job at the local Mickey D's.

I thought the horse refused to talk to pretty much anyone else. Or nobody else could hear/understand the horse. It's been a long time since I watched it.

I think he refuses to talk to anyone else, because Wilbur's wife I think talks to Ed.

But just finished it, he actually then finally agrees to let Ed collect unemployment, just to help out Ralph, who then got hired as some high up Press Agent.

Plus what's Wilbur's job? He even wore the same shirt two days in a row. And he's calling Ed lazy? What an ass.

EDIT: NVM: Never truly explained:
Ed's ability to talk was never explained, or ever contemplated much on the show. In the first episode, when Wilbur expresses an inability to understand the situation, Ed offers the show's only remark on the subject: "Don't try. It's bigger than both of us!"

Why are you looking for reason in a show about a talking horse? Isn't the whole point of the thing is it's a subversion of reality? Also workhorses were still common at the time.

Well, because why would Wilbur be so adamant about his talking horse getting a job? He's obviously not just a "work horse", so Wilbur should be more lenient with him.

Also check out his 180 on the whole situation.
