What do you vote for?

It's actually rather tough, as I really do love a good French brandy, but whisky has so many different blends, many of them so flavoursome.

I have to therefore go with whisky. Preferably a good single malt, on the rocks.

Depends on what kind of mood I am in. Im partial to vodka. But do occasionally crave Jameson and ginger ale, or captain and coke. Just all depends on my mood. Last night it was crown Apple on the rocks due to a really crappy day. Ill drink pretty much anything except Jack

Tequila
Makes me sick to even think about it
Gin
The cop out drink
Cognac
On a blue moon sure

There's absolutely no way you could drink rum and then drink gin and conclude that they taste even remotely alike.

They both taste overwhelmingly of ethanol. Can't taste what else the put in. The might smell a bit different though.

I find it very hard to believe someone could not immediately spot the difference in flavours but I'll take your word for it.

Well, I find it hard to believe that anyone could find any of those drinks tasty. But I've never been much of a drunk.

Only someone who hasn't tried drinking spirits would try and argue that they all taste the same.

That is some utter bollocks right there.

Is it considered edgy around here to not be so "hardened" with booze that you can't taste the difference between them?

You're an edge lord for implying that enjoying any of these spirits makes you a drunk.

I'm implying that you have to have been drinking it a lot before you get to a point where you can just enjoy the taste.

I dunno man, putting aside the whole conversation on people acting tough or being drunks or whatever, I'm just surprised that you wouldn't be able to taste the difference between a dark liquor that has a distinct raisin molasses taste (like rum) versus a clear spirit like gin which tastes of pine and juniper. I think I could show that to an 18 year old and they'd be able to spot the difference, even if they didn't like either.

I'm saying you are being willfully ignorant of the obvious reality that all spirits don't taste the same. And also that one doesn't need to be a regular drinker to taste the difference and reach this obvious conclusion.

And no, I'm not drunk. I am firmly in touch with reality. Unlike some.
