A few months ago I downgraded from a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to a Samsung A3 2017.
I immediately noticed that it was slower and the touch screen not being as precise or sensitive.

I was such a clutz to drop my old S7(the screen cracked) and this is my punishment.
My new phone is much cheaper though so it won't be that bad if this one breaks so I have that going for me which is nice.

In processing power, yes. Day to day performance, not so much. It's very smooth, most notably because it doesn't have firmware that's intentionally designed to work worse on it than the next generation.

Your phone gets loaded with bloatware and forced to a crawl on purpose, mine is made to run as the phone it is as long as it lives, not as long as it's the flagship.

......you can load a stock rom on any android phone dude. who uses the one that comes with the phone? i've used androids you know. there's virtually extremely little difference these days

and sry but there's really no way to guarantee a phone's longevity, eventually apps will get too far ahead and the hardware can't keep up. your hardware is four years old. and from some googling it appears the last android version it supported is 6.0. that's two versions old. your apps will break down eventually, if not on the software level then because the hardware just can't handle it anymore. that's called................... manufactured obsolescence, which every phone does.

don't get me wrong, the Z1 was a very solid phone for its time and i'm sure it still runs acceptably now, but you're making a loyalty claim where there really isn't one. apple catches all the flak for things that are standard manufacturing process

also idk what you mean by bloatware. i dont load apps that i dont use

Lol my Nexus 6p is only a couple of years old and it's so fucking slow after all the Android updates compared to earlier versions. New updates. But most android phones don't continue to get new os support for that long, a Z1 went from jelly bean to lollipop. I went from marshmallow to Oreo in 2 years and it's quite noticeable and negatively impacts performance.

by comparison the iPhone 6 is three years old. thats an extremely acceptable lifespan for a phone considering youd most likely be up for an upgrade after having it that long

businesses arent your friends and their only goal is to get your money. phone manufacturers need to guarantee a way to get your money again once your phone dies or you have an upgrade

Yep. My abysmal battery life was perfectly timed for that 2 year mark to get me to consider an upgrade. You'll notice most phones get under 80 percent battery capacity max after 500 charges which is under 2 years if you charge one time a day.

Beyond that the actual operating systems will be built for newer sets of hardware and not to keep older models in the fastest working order.

Companies want you replacing your phone on the regular. 3 years is longer than most go.

My phone is sometimes near battery saver by the end of work and I keep Bluetooth and GPS off to conserve battery. Push notifications disabled for most things. Only really use it at lunch. It's crap.

It now shuts itself off at 40 percent battery if I open up snapchat or Pokemon go.

One thing I find kills peoples phones are "phone cleaner/battery saver" apps
As they do more damage then help. So of them are just there to spy on you and put ads on your phone.

I have seen peoples phones glitching like crazy, and once an phone clean app was uninstalled the phone started to work.

You can load anything you like on Android phones but I haven't and you have to load iOS on Apple phones whether you want to or not. Both stock, mine runs and yours doesn't.

Sure, one day it'll not be able to keep up, but that hasn't happened 6 generations after losing flagship status. It doesn't have an operating system that stops running the hardware properly so long after it's not what they're working on. Manufactured obsolescence is building things with the intent of having a set lifespan and my phone still works fine long after typical recycle time. If my phone had manufactured obsolescence then the hardware would be failing and it would no longer be reasonable to use the phone anymore, like was the case with yours.

I'm loyal to Sony because Sony generally hasn't let me down, it's consistently quality while Apple has controversy with literally every release. People are equally loyal to Samsung and such because it doesn't do what Apple does.

iOS CXVII is designed to re-engineer its content to run at best quality on flagship and remove optimisation for prior iterations, this is what I mean as bloat. It gives functions that don't work on older kit and changes things that do work to work less.

your phone isn't running anything near the most current OS version (updates for the Z1 stopped ages ago and it received very few updates from release). her phone was.

it's largely the OS changes that really shit up phones over time
