Allowed to touch male teachers in any way shape or form. I teach at an all girl school, grade 1 and 2. We found out through one of my students parents who is friends with my mother-in-law that the school is enforcing a new policy.

Students are not allowed to touch male teachers. It is an all girl school and they don't want them fraternizing with males at all. If a student is seen touching one of us, the Thai teachers are supposed to take the student to talk with the Sister (principal). If they do it again, they'll start to be punished.

I find this fucking disgusting. My students will run up and hug me if they see me during break, try to hold my hand, poke my belly, etc. It's all kids just being kids but now these fucking people are sexualizing it.

The parent who told us this child is like that. She this sweet little girl who is super touchy, her mother said she is the exact way at home with her father, younger brothers and uncles. She said she will tell them this and will not accept any punishment they try to give her daughter.

P.S. These students do it with all their teachers, male and female. Especially the young ones. They aren't singling me out, over half the foreign teachers in our school are male and about a quarter of the Thai teachers.

I think a lot of this is to do with paranoia because of that American pedophile they recently found hiding out here. Still complete and utter horse shit though.

I guarantee if you asked any teacher, male or female, who has taught kids under the age of 8 will say their students do the exact same thing. Kids don't understand personal space and they are doing innocently. Anyone who turns that into a sexual thing is sick in the fucking head.

They actually do. Not directly in the classrooms but virtually every other corner of the school. All classroom doors are glass and the classrooms are very visible from outside.

Yep. When it comes to me touching the students it's a light pat on the head or shoulder. I've never even returned a hug to a student, just stood there and took it because I'm not an asshole who's going to tell a little kid she isn't allowed to touch men.

I feel sorry for those girls, they are probably going to grow up with all kinds of weird problems with men.

I taught elementary school for a few years out of college. In my first year I had 1st grade. I never had a reason to touch any of the students and think its odd that you are upset about this rule. I think its even odder that you find it acceptable to hug or hold a student's hand...

I worked a lot with elementary aged children in uni and pretty much the rule was always 'if the student initiates it, do what is comfortable for you'
some of the people I worked with would ask for hugs (both men and women) but the most i'd go for was a fist bump. but yeah, all kinds of kids want a hug and it's bad for them for you to deny it

See, you're one of the disturbed people I'm talking about. And as I said, I never reciprocate the hugs/hand holding, I'm just not going to be an asshole to a child because they innocently touched me.

Anyone who finds issue with this needs their head examined. Same type of people who try to shame someone for kissing/being kissed by their toddler on the lips. If you guys can't understand that it's not sexual, just simple affection then you're the ones with issues.
