i have 35000 SPG points, so i can book an SPG hotel for free for a week (about 1700 dollar value)

but i recently just extended my stay one more day so i can get a better flight back to the states.

but that means i need 10,000 more SPG points.

my primary way of getting SPG points is using Plastiq.com to use my SPG amex card to pay my rent. i can get about 2500 SPG points per month with that. then with normal spend, i can get 10k points in about 2-3 months..

but unfortunately, Amex just shut Plastiq down and we can't use amex there anymore. meaning i have to risk getting my venmo account shut down (i use them to charge my credit card, pay my rental agency with the transfered cash, then pay off my card with my money, or whatever).

its just such a big hassle too. will my hotel get completely full in 3 months? i dont want to lose this availability. so part of me wants to just book it now, then find another hotel with cash to stay at just for that one night.
