Nothing special. Each one learned unlocks new techniques, but unlocking the last one doesn't do anything else special.

Except for Tidus. I highly recommend getting all of his. You'll see why.

Pretty much.

Google says that there are 2 players that learn Anti-Venom 2 on their own (Linna and Brother), and they're both free-agents. Apparently, free agents need to play at least one game before other teams will start recruiting them. Linna is at the Macalania Temple. You can recruit her and play her for one game, then hope another team grabs her.

You can also wait for it to be a tournament prize.

I never encountered Brother, I encountered Linna but she didn't have it

I don't understand Volley Shot

I know its a passive ability

supposedly they take a shot if they're close to a fumbled pass

but they never actually do and thus I can't learn it!

Ball needs to bounce off of the keeper, I believe, for volley shot to potentially activate. May be wrong, haven't played FF X in waaaay too long (I played the hell outta blitzball too), but I think that's correct.

Durren, I think he is ok at low levels as a keeper, but you are way past when he is any good (I always reset levels in blitz so not sure on this).
