Whereas Trump is ginning up hate against Muslims and immigrants to cover for his plutocratic agenda, W. did the same thing, only with LGBT. Appealing to the homophobia of conservative voters to try and win support for social security privatization or tax cuts. Bush was a precursor to Trump. The anti-intellectualism, the distrust of the "liberal" news, the unilateralism, the stoking of culture wars to cover for a plutocratic agenda, all were typical of Bush's time in office. You can draw a straight line from B to T. Back then people who fought for gay marriage were public enemy #1. Today it's "SJW's." It's not any fucking different.
