unlocking the kid in super meatboy felt pretty good too.

While I did mean smaller moments of joy, it's nice to see that "accomplishment" is still highly rated in video games.

I am not sure if best is the way to describe it but definitely most memorable. Two friends and I were co-oping through Kirby's Return to Dream Land on Wii U I think. There was one level where the we had to quickly move down or get squished by the edge of the screen. At one point one friend and I both ran far to one side of a platform to grab an extra life but it was too late to escape before getting squished. Outta instinct we both ducked despite a guaranteed death.

We all started laughing so hard that we were crying. It was so stupid with what we did with a net loss of one life. Us ducking was completely pointless and yet we still did it. My sides were hurting with how much I was laughing.

Any time I play Sonic Adventure. The game has its flaws, but playing as Sonic, speeding around and launching yourself into the air, is just so damn fun.

Kind of like that Kirby story, I went over to my brother's house one time after he got a Wii and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It was my first time playing and I don't think we'd ever played a co-op platformer before, but we were in total sync. There was one part where in order to reach one of those big coins, you had to jump off a player's head and then wall jump. We both headed toward it, and without saying a word or even slowing down, we pulled it off flawlessly.

Not much above doing well and feeling rewarded for practicing in general really

I guess being 7 and stepping up from original mario to Super Mario World was pretty off the rails

When combat and platforming seemlessly blend into each other. When the combat skills I've learned assist me in traversal and vice versa. Look at Guacamelee for example. Each of the power moves corresponded to movement as well as attacks. You'd have to string together jumps, punches, and kicks, while traversing 2 different dimensions to complete platforming challenges. Add wall jumping and running to the mix and you have a truly insane challenge.

look at this level here:

100%ing all the Spyro trilogy games. I'll never forget that feeling I got when, after several weeks, (this was before I had access to the internet) figured out how to use the supercharge to get to Copano.

There were other parts too. This is basically a summary:

I can't think of any.

Platformers have always been about "get to the end" for me, and little else. While there are entire games I like I would be hard pressed to point out a moment and say "that was awesome".
