Shit, wife isn't even home. Tell her I am here now and if she made dinner, seeing as it's a Sunday and she would have had all fucking day to plan something or even throw in one of the 10 freezer meals we spent hours making. Nope, got a big fat "No dinner plans, I had a sandwich. Been at my mom's with the kids all day." I say "oh..." so she sends some rapid fire "It was a really hard day/I didn't think about it/I should have made a freezer meal/I'm sorry."

She could have atleast told me when I said "I'm leaving now" so I could get a fucking burger or something. Bet you a billion dollars next time I don't have dinner made after she works and dish out the same bullshit she throws a fit and wants to have an "list talk", where she write down a big list of shit I do wrong and we fight for an hour. Though now that I think about it, she hasn't pulled that one in a long time, since I got fucking pissed the last time she hit me with a list, seeing as I was working 4 12 hour shifts a week and barely sleeping because of a newborn at the time.

It's her own fault, she constantly overburdens herself by trying to appease everyone and keep up an image. She HAS to go to church, despite the kids nose running and having slept 4 hours the night before in order to keep up her social status. She HAS to go to her dumb shit privileged women meetings all the time so the women there don't talk shit behind her back, which they will do any way because women are awful.

It's her mom's fault. The woman can't even get the mail without putting on make up and getting a perm.

I do the majority of the cooking. When I have to work all weekend, guess who still ends up making fucking dinner.

I had take-out twice because I just didn't give a fuck about cooking anything

this. i always cook my own things so i get takeout or simple stuff usually. then when i do cook real food i'll make a bunch of pasta so it lasts me a few days. also bought frozen chicken wings since i can just throw them in the deep fryer and only takes like 10 mins to make. frozen pizzas are good too.

but i do wish i had someone to cook for me.

My advice would be to address the impending meal plan in a text before you leave work. If she doesn't get back to you, you might be out of luck anyway, but you might be able to avoid the issue that way.

I empathize with you. It's easy to take her side when most of these people haven't worked a 12 hour shift. Those are the worst. I used to get some overnight 12 hours back in Undergrad. Shit was hella exhausting. It doesn't take much consideration for her to simply let you know that there won't be food at home when you get there

Further, keep some microwaveable burritos in the freezer. Not the best meal, but at least you have the house to yourself for a bit. That's all I want after a long shift.

Welp, it's almost 9 now and still haven't eaten. 4 month old won't fall asleep and wife is with the 3 year old putting him down. I'm just sitting here with an uncomfortable ass baby wiggling around with his eyes close, wont let me lay him down. Sure wish I had something waiting for me to eat before I spent an hour doing this.

This reminds me of when I had a girlfriend living with me for 5 years. She was unemployed for half of that time. When she did work it was maybe 20-25 hours per week. She never cleaned. She'd cook only 3-4 times a week. She spent money so bad our income turned negative. I haven't worked less than 50 hours per week since 2008. When she left she told my relatives I was abusive and a cheater. This woman is pushing 40 by the way.
