Like I'm sure it was revolutionary for the time but I think so many films have built on and improved on the genre since then

I really enjoyed and overall understood this movie more so than the first one. I'd admit, despite K being Decker's son being too convenient and probably not the likely truth, I actually did not expect it to be Dr. Ana Stelline. It should had been obvious but I was wondering why she cried when she saw K's memory of the furnace.. Certain scenes in the movie were really really loud though, almost to the point of being uncomfortable.

I never read it but it is kinda funny how different this movie is from the book sequel, Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human.

EDIT: On another note, did it seem Joi was almost alive or was it just part of her programming? When she suggested to transfer her data to the portable device and break the antennae so Luv cannot extract the information from Joi nor track them I thought she seemed very much alive. But at the end when it showed the ad for Joi and how she say and do anything you want, I couldn't help but think it was all just part of her programming.

I was meh when watching the first one for the first time. Loved the directors cut though. The visuals alone kept the story going without the droning narrative.

Like most movies, I'll wait for it to come through the library on DVD.

It's pretty great, but I can't say it's the best movie of the year and it's certainly not as good as the original. Still, it's best "big" movie of the year by a mile

Yes, that's the point. That's the point of all of it. Can we trust our memories and our own thoughts? What does it mean to be a person? After all, aren't all of your emotions just the result of your own programming? Are we as humans some how more valid and more real? What even does it mean to be a real person, and where will we draw the line?

It's been a few weeks since I saw this movie and the longer I've chewed it over, the more flavor I've found. Really, quite a bit like the first one in that regard. There's a lot here to think about.

What movie would you say is best?

The Salesman is my current favorite (It's on Amazon Prime if you've have that and would want to watch it) 2049 is still in my top 5 so far though.
