They also put the girl into a man suit.

(The Yellow Ranger in the original japanese series was a man. Thus why the Pink Ranger was the only wearing a skirt)

She kinda defaulted to that one. The white chick was of course going to be the pink girly-girl -- it was the 90s -- so that left the yellow ranger as the only one who could have conceivably been female.
