Leaning towards VII, and that seems to be the most well-regarded of the series... But I figured I'd ask here before making a descision, because these games are probably going to be a huge time sink for me.

Also, sorry if this isn't the right place to be asking these kinds of things >_>

I'd say 7 as well. People really like 9, but imo the opening to the battles kills the game. It's so slow

I don't doubt that VIII and many of the other FFs are fantastic. But, from my experience, there games are a fairly large commitment. Just plan on playing either VII or IX, maybe get around to the one that I don't end up playing first.

I beat VI a couple days ago. Loved it, but it's a bit too soon for a replay.

Also finished IV, V, and X.

I'm probably going to skip VIII for now, because FFs are very time-consuming. I'm giving VII priotity, because I've been hearing spoilers about it that I want resolved. And IX's a close second, because I know a couple of people that consider it the best in the series.
