It feels weird, but it was the right choice. Would have failed that class if I kept going.

I probably will retake it next semester. I don't need to even take it, but I feel this will be a huge regret of mine if I just leave that class as a quitter. The problem isn't the course, nor is it the teacher; the problem is me. That is a good thing to me because if there is one thing I can fix, it is myself, or so I hope.

Long gone are the days where I felt like I could tackle anything and come out on top.

they offer the ability to drop classes because they know students overestimate themselves and become overwhelmed. this is of course on top of life happening and schedules being ruined.
its responsible to know your limits and work to extend them not leap far beyond them

I never see the point of doing this. Doesn't your transcript say incomplete and you will have to retake the course anyway?

I had to drop a Linguistics 101 class because it was obvious I was failing as fuck. Ended up getting a W for withdraw (not for "win") on my transcript. Really didn't hurt anything because I only did it once.

The class was fucking brutal. The guy was going way too fucking far for an intro-level gen-ed filler class. He wanted us to memorize the whole International Phonetic Alphabet for like a quiz 2-3 weeks into class and I was like absolutely fucking not, this is brutal (reminder, this is in addition to regular reading and essays and exams).

This is what he wanted memorized:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:The_International_Phonetic_Alphabet_(revised_to_2015).pdf

The quiz questions were like "what is the symbol for a dental fricative" and you had to draw the one with like a zero with the line through it.

I was like nope, bye bitch

depends on how long you were in the class. if you do it late itll be listed as dropped and wont count against you the first two times but will look bad after. if you do it early enough it just disappears

What class?

Where do you think you went wrong?

Is it really your fault?

This is going to be embarrassing, but I missed a lot of classes due to oversleeping. I would say that is under the category of completely my fault. Oh, and the class is Calc III.

Yup. Definitely aimed for something a little too high. I am just glad that there will not be any real long-term damage, and I will definitely use this as a learning experience.

There will be a W (which stands for Withdrawal) next to the class on my official transcript. It will not hurt my GPA, and I do not have to retake this course considering it is not a necessity in the least bit. I am a Business major.

Well, as sucky as a W is, a low grade is much, much worse if your GPA does matter (which it does for me).

I missed the early deadline for just dropping a class, but the only penalty against me is the W that I mentioned above, which is not the end of the world.

I definitely do not plan on dropping any more classes. If I can make it past this semester, College will be a lot less stressful.
