I keep seeing it advertised as being some kind of battle between the two phones, but honestly the S8 with its 5.8 inch screen, bezel-less design, etc seems much more similar to the iPhone X overall. The Note 8 is a huge phone that's mostly marketed for productivity.

The S8 and iPhone X are the same size, with the same design ethos and basically the same screen. The only difference (other than iOS vs Android) being the S8 is $600 while the iPhone X is $999

The X has an objectively better camera and a much better CPU when compared to the S8. Aside from that, as well as a couple other smaller things (IP67 vs IP68 for example), they're pretty similar. I too think they have more in common than the Note 8.

What's weird to me is we could easily be going back to "one size fits all" iPhones and no one has really mentioned it. The raw screen measurement(5.8") makes it seem like a replacement for the Plus models but in reality it's basically the same physical size as the 4.7" iPhones(but all screen instead of having bezels).

i think its compared to the note 8 because they're both the most high end offerings from apple/samsung and they both have that stupid dual camera gimmick
