I can see it now:

- China arguably on top of the world, but it's not 92 AD
- Mass migration into Europe, but it's not 476
- Significant anarchist activity in New York, but it's not 1901
- Segregation becoming trendy in progressive areas, but it's not 1896
- Wealthy businessman with no political experience becomes president, but it's not 1929
- Nazis and Communists fighting and killing each other on the streets, but it's not 1930
- White democrats attacking black people for not supporting the right political party, but it's not 1940
- Nationwide civil rights protests, but it's not 1960
- Cold war between the U.S. and Russia, but it's not 1962
- Radical feminists taking over academia, but it's not 1972
- Urban riots over police brutality, but it's not 1992

It's funny how little the arts have changed in ten years compared to say 57-67

However science is probably improving faster than ever

I remember watching Future Shock (1972) a few years ago and it was eerie how similar things were, aside from technological advancement.

History has been pretty amorphous since the end of WWII (1945) tbh. A lot of late 20th century history was kind of annoying because it seemed like a lot of the legislation and wars (especially the Cold War) going on didn't have any definite ending points. Look at the Korean War for example - it's still ongoing, technically. And it's gotten even worse with the 21st century - the Iraq War, generalized War on Terror, etc. Seems like everything was/is chugging along to some type of WWIII, though that probably won't happen at this point, at least, not to the degree of what happened in WWI/WWII, mainly because of how different military combat has become now.
