So, killing a Lv 1 Hero gives 100 XP, a novice mage 250, an experienced one 500, and even some random schmuck blacksmith gives 200, but killing 200 goblins(minus the King) gives only 1,000? That's 5 apiece! Even when accounting for XP split between three slimes that's still 15 for each kill! What the hell kind of moronic, wimp goblins were these? The average slime(not our emboldened ones in this story) would put them to shame, jeez.

C) "We're not stopping with monsterkind; we're invading the humans too," you reply.

Suddenly, Yellow yells at us using a human voice.

"Invade the humans?!" Yellow shouts.

The Slimes stop bouncing. Everyone starts shaking in fear like they usually do when near other monsters and humans.

"Green," says Blue, "are you crazy?! I mean, I know the answer to that. But still!"
Even Purple starts quivering again.

Yellow starts emitting a beholding aura, with their yellow hue slowly turning into a pristine gold.
Their size grows to twice that of the average slime, and they grow spikes on the top of their "head," resembling something like an organic crown.

"Lord Slime!" says Blue while flattening themselves to indicate a bow.
The other Slimes follow suit, and even Purple is on their knees.

"Green!" booms Lord Slime, "you really dare not to bow even to your own Lord?"
Is this a good time to shrug?

Trick question; you shrug.

Lord Slime pauses for a moment, then chuckles.
"I suppose you really are serious, aren't you? You always were a little different from the rest of us," says Lord Slime with a hint of pride.

Blue hops in front of you.
"Milord, are you against the invasion of humankind?" they say.

"Are you for the invasion of humankind?" replies Lord Slime.

Even Blue is hesitating.
Lord Slime is eyeing you. If Slimes had eyes, of course.

"You seem like you wish to say something to all of us, Green," says Lord Slime.
You nod--first time you ever gave a straight answer.

Lord Slime then starts forming this strange golden orb of energy; it seems magical in nature.
They shoot it towards you.
Suddenly, you feel a little light-headed. Not that you have a brain to know how that actually feels for humans, but its somewhat similar.
After you regain stability, you stand up straight and try to form a message ball, but instead...

"You're asking the wrong questions, Milord," you say with a human voice. "This isn't just about invading humankind; this is about rising from the bottom to the very top of all living beings."

"And what do you hope to accomplish by doing this? What's waiting for you at the top?" says Lord Slime.

A long moment of silence ensues.

Finally, you shrug.

At this point, it's hard to tell how exactly Lord Slime is feeling about this. All there is is silence once again.

"So be it," says Lord Slime. "I'll let you keep the gift of voice to aid you on your journey. Good luck out there, Green."

No one cheers for you. All the Slimes are simply sitting still.
You mount the King's head atop the hilt of his hammer and walk away. Blue and Purple follow you quietly.

Now what?

A) Head for the next town.
B) Go back and make amends.
C) Go find a harbor town to acquire a boat.

A) To the next town

The three of you walk along a beaten path, with the sight of Town_2 just along the horizon.
On the way, you meet some monsters, though they're just Goblins and fellow Slimes. You wave at the other Slimes, but they think you're a human, so you don't really go near them. The Goblins, however, are scared shitless. They won't even go near the other Slimes. Looks like word travels fast that you dethroned their King.

Throughout the entire walk, Blue has been talking about relationship problems or whatever while you skim through more of the Magic Tome. You don't really give a damn about Blue's troubles--Slimes reproduce asexually anyway. That doesn't stop Blue from trying to find love. You suspect that Blue has been influenced too much from close human encounters.

Meanwhile, Purple has been silent the entire time. You dont sense any bloodlust anymore. Looks like whatever state of mind Purple was in has worn off, which is pretty handy since you'd rather not be adventuring with a crazy murderous psychopath the entire time.

"Look, I'm just saying," Blue rambles on, "Magenta has GOT to be into me, y'know? The kazoo is a love magnet I'm telling ya."
"Blue, Slimes don't give a shit about kazoos. Or love for that matter. Now shut up," you reply frankly and turn to the next page.
"C'mon Green, at least let me have this one--" Blue says, but is abruptly cut off by you.
"Shh. Look up ahead," you say while pointing forward.

The town's entrance is not too far now, but it's guarded by a pair of knights. A small trade carriage arrived not too long ago and is being inspected by the knights.

"It's odd to see high security measures in a small town like this," says the trader as he is being patted down. "What's going on?"
"Town_1, which isn't too far from here, was recently massacred," says one of the knights as he finishes the inspection. "The Queen has stationed knights all over the nation to make sure everyone is safe. You're good to go, by the way."
"Thanks. I hope you catch the culprits soon," says the trader as he hops unto his horse and starts moving. The knights face forward and stand stoically.

"Looks like the place is guarded, Green," says Blue. "What's the plan?"

A) Wait for another trade carriage and sneak in.
B) Walk in normally and claim you're cursed.
C) Distract the knights then sneak in.
D) We're not here to play human. Cast Magic.

TWO Knights might be nothing... But we have no idea what else could be in town to respond to a fight at the gates. I suggest caution. A is likely TOO cautious. The guards are actively watching for people so they'd be looking for sneaky fucks. B or C would probably work better. Trojan Slime sounds hilarious, for I vote

B) Walk in normally and claim you're cursed.

"The plan," you say, "is to uh...let's just go in. We'll wing it from there."
Blue looks like they were about to say something, but they know better than to object, so they shrug.
Purple nods.

You approach the knights, but immediately, they point pikes at you.
"Halt!" one of them yells. "State your business travellers--whoa!"
As you come closer, they realize your slimy texture and assume a power stance.
You and Purple raise your slime hands up.

"Please lower your weapons; we are merely here to seek help from the Cathedral for this curse." you say.

One of the knights raise their eyebrow at you.
"I've never seen a curse like this. What happened?" he asks.
"We uh..." you emulate a coughing sound, "we got invited to a witch's house and were offered bread, only for it to be stale. Honestly, the fact that it was stale was way worse than being cursed. I smacked the witch on her head with an old baguette that was as hard as the capital's walls. The witch wasn't too pleased and cursed us. If the bread wasn't gonna kill us, the witch certainly was about to. We barely escaped with our lives and now we're like this," you say, trying to sound as genuine as you can. You're still not quite used to your voice just yet.

The knight's grip on his pike loosens while letting out a muffled chuckle.
"Alright, but what of the Slime?" he says while pointing at Blue.

"This one's uh...my dog," you say.
"Your dog?" says the knight as he tightens his grip again. Did you fuck up?
You stealthily shoot a message ball to Blue.
"Blue! Go bark at them!" you slime-whisper.
At this point, Blue has given up on even questioning your ridiculous commands.
Blue makes quite the cacophonous cry; sounding like a mix of a chihuahua's tail being stepped on and a kazoo cover of Careless Whisper. Not that you'd know any of that, as that is all human culture references.

The knight is not pleased and really tenses his grip. However, his partner holds his shoulder.
"You'll have to excuse him," his partner says. "He's not exactly a dog lover. You're free to go through--the Cathedral's gonna be the tallest building in town. You can't miss it. Have a safe trip!" he says with a smile.

The three of you walk past the knights. Blue attempts to make that human motion where they point two fingers at their own eyes then at their target's eyes. Of course, Blue does not have hands, so this attempt was a critical failure.

You're greeted with a giant banner that says "Welcome to Town_2!"
This town is slightly more bustling and larger than Town_1, with a high density of merchants and traders. Looks like this is where business happens.
You also see a few knights mixed in with the crowd, but they're quite few in number.
The townspeople give your companions strange looks, but don't seem to think weirdly of you.
You slime-whisper to Purple, "Psst, Purple. Can't you shapeshift into something more human-like yet? You got plenty of humans to choose from."
"Humans are far more revolting than I imagined. I prefer this form," replies Purple.
You emulate a sigh.

A) Visit the Cathedral
B) Visit the pub/inn
C) Visit the armor/weapon shops
D) Talk to the merchants and traders
E) Well this was fun. Cast Magic.

C) Visit the armor/weapon shop

The young blacksmith greets the three of you a hearty welcome as you enter through the door of the armor/weapon shop. She sets her hammer down on her anvil and walks up to the counter.

"What'll it be, travellers?" she asks with a smile.
You look at the selection of metalwork mounted on the wall--iron swords, spears, shields, breastplates, and other standard knightly equipment.
You consider your party's individual roles in battle. You're the mage that can use a sword, Purple is the nimble cane-sword assassin, and Blue is a wildcard.
You slime-whisper to Purple, "Hey Purple, anything look interesting to you here?"
No response.
"Purple?" you shoot again.
"...Is this one human?" Purple replies.
"What are you talking about?" you ask while raising a metaphorical eyebrow.
"This forger of weapons looks nothing like the humans outside. It is almost as if this one has been blessed by the gods," says Purple with a hint of dumbfoundedness.
"Ugh. Gross. Are you falling in love with a human?" you say while sticking a metaphorical tongue out in disgust.
"No, this is purely in an artistic sense. I wish to take that form," Purple says.
You massage your temples. Not that headaches are a slime concept, but it seems really fitting right now.
Meanwhile, Blue is waving some arrows around looking like an idiot. The blacksmith seems to be amused by this.
"Blue," you ask them, "how about you? Anything you want?"
Blue shrugs.
Well, this makes your job easier.
"I'll take one of everything," you say to the blacksmith.
She's taken aback. "One of everything, you say?! That'll cost you a lot!"
"It's cool, I have a discount," you say, before jabbing the Cursed Sword into her neck. You pull out the sword and whip the blood to Purple. Her body ragdolls and turns into XP.
Purple absorbs the blood and immediately emits a murderous aura again, and also shapeshifts into the former blacksmith.

[Blacksmith defeated! +200XP!]

"Purple," you command, "go get another weapon or something. I think dual-wielding would suit you better."
Purple nods and picks up a shortsword from the wall.

[Iron Shortsword equipped!]

"Blue," you say coldly, "go eat all the weapons here."
"Roger that!" says Blue as they make a mad dash for the wall.
A weird effect happens as Blue assimilates the weapons--they disintegrate while Blue's slimy texture slowly hardens and turns to metal.
"Whoa, what's happening to me Green?" says Blue with a hint of confusion and awe.
"What's happening seems to be that you're compensating for your shitty shapeshifting," you say.

[Blue has evolved from Blue Slime to Metal Slime!]

"Well, no turning back now," you say while facing Blue and Purple. "Ready?"
Both Blue and Purple shrug.

E) Cast Magic.

You climb to the roof of the armor/weapon shop and raise the Cursed Sword towards the sky.
In your other hand is the Magic Tome, flipped to a page depicting a cracked boulder.
The sword glows red again, with an intensity as strong as when you demolished Town_1

Beams of light emerge from rapidly-forming cracks in the ground.
Your sight is filled with houses and structures crumbling into dust.
Your metaphorical ears are filled with screams as people get crushed under falling debris or fall into the chasms in the ground.
The shop you're standing on also begins to collapse, so the three of you hop down. The shaking ground doesn't affect any of you; you can thank natural shock absorption once again.
The crowd is in a panic. None of them can even run properly--they keep losing their footing. You don't even see the knights around anymore.

"So this is what happened to Town_1? You're a maniac, Green," Blue says nonchalantly.
"Well, imagine this but with more fire," you say.

Soon, the quakes subside. Cracks stop forming. All you can see is rubble, debris, and corpses. You glance at an old lady with her leg stuck in a chasm as her grandson tries to pull her out to no avail.
"Grandmother!" shouts the boy with tears falling down like a faucet, "please, we must escape! It's not safe here!"
The old lady is silent. Dead silent. Guess the boy is in tough denial.

In another area, you see a burly man with an axe next to another burly man stuck under a huge slab of rock.
"Listen, John, I can't budge this rock at all. I think we're gonna have to...resort to drastic measures," says the axe man.
"Will, you can't be serious!" says John while tears start forming in his eyes, "it doesn't have to be this way, Will!" he screams.
"I'm sorry old pal," says Will as he closes his eyes and raises his axe.
It slams down on John's thigh, amputating him instantly. Blood coats the axe as well as the ground around them.
John shrieks until he eventually passes out from losing too much blood.
"I'm...so sorry...old pal," Will bumbles as he breaks down on his knees.

You broke the humans once more.

However...one structure stands perfectly tall, as though you did nothing to it--The Cathedral.
This can't be possible.
The three of you make your way to it, only to be blocked by an invisible barrier surrounding the building.

"What the hell is this?" Blue says.

The large Cathedral doors slowly open, and a man in robes emerges. Behind the door, you see quite a few of the townspeople. Seems like they went here for refuge.

"God has spoken, and has marked us all for death," says the robed man while raising his arms. "However, you do not seem to be loved by God either, travellers. The Divine Barrier blocks your entry. You are clearly creatures of hell!" the man declares.

Two knights emerge behind the robed man--the same knights from the entrance.
"What the...you guys?!" says the knight that hated dogs.
"We trusted you!" says the other knight.

"Trusting people isn't part of your job, genius." you say.
You touch the barrier with the Cursed Sword, creating cracks through it. With a little push, you shatter the barrier completely.

The knights assume their fighting stance, while the robed man falls on his ass.
"Hell...we are not safe from hell anywhere!!" says the robed man as he scuttles back into the Cathedral.
The dog-hating knight on the left brandishes his pike and yells, "We are William and Jonathan, knights of the Queen! And for the sake of peace in the land, we shall strike you down--"
Before William finishes his speech, Purple appears behind him and jams a cane-sword into his underarm where armor isn't present.
His pike hits the ground...along with his arm. William is on his knees screaming in great pain.
Johnathan points his pike to Purple, but is shivering while doing so. Not very threatening.

You walk over to Johnathan while sliding the tip of the Cursed Sword against the ground, creating a screeching metallic sound.
Johnathan turns his attention to you, still quivering in his greaves.
You're right in front of him now. In a panic, he swings his pike to your side.

"Do you like dogs, Johnathan?" you say, while deflecting his pike upwards and staggering him.
Johnathan says nothing and lunges at you while screaming.
You sidestep his charge and sweep his leg, causing him to trip and tumble into the ground.
You grab his pike and nail his leg to the ground, causing him to scream.
"It's a yes or no question, Johnathan. C'mon. Screaming is not a valid answer."
