It's an additional missile that I need to switch between that feels the exact same to shoot except it blows up green blocks instead of red and does more damage! Zzzzz

Morph Ball for me, in most games you get two seconds after starting and should have had it to begin with.

Normal missiles, too.

Unloading your full super missile supply into a metroids mouth is pretty satisfying in Samus Returns.

Spring Ball is meant to make you more mobile while in morph ball. Having to wait around for a bomb to explode is tedious and isn't conducive to cool chase sequences like in Samus Returns and Fusion.

I get why they do that. It teaches players to return to that narrow passage they passed 2 minutes earlier. Which is a fundamental design for Metroid.

IIRC wasn't Metroid one of the first scrolling games to allow the player to move left which is why the morph ball was to the left of the very start, to train players to think in both directions?

Yeah. Hell in SMB you can't even go back left. You just run to the end of the screen and stop.
