I'm fine with this whole "movement" except the sexually harassed part, because you'll have people like Zarna Joshi who will cry sexual harassment over literally nothing, so that makes the umbrella way too big. If it were narrowed down to sexual assault, then this whole thing would be more effective, I think.

Everyone person with a sob story is using Facebook as a platform to vent their purported problems. Some of the stories, I assume, are true.

It's some kind of hashtag activism about the sexual assault issue. I actually had to ask my coworker what it was about because I was seeing it all over twitter.

There's people here who think is think sending someone an unsolicited explicit picture or randomly grabbing someone's ass in a bar doesn't count as "real sexual harassment", but I'm sure this topic will be a healthy discussion on the issue

My main issue is how they're trying to lump lesser harassment with major harassments.

There comes a point where it turns out that everyone has been sexually harassed and then it kind of makes the whole thing seem unimportant.

Picture = harassment
Groping = assault

I doubt that even on CE, anyone has the balls to pretend to not think that groping isn't at least harassment.

Eh, I'm no fan of hashtag slacktivism being barfed all over social media, and I say that as someone who has dealt with being on the receiving end of sexual assault.

I don't feel any sense of solidarity or empathy from these people, it's just too low-effort and mass-produced to come off as genuinely heartfelt.
