I like it, was surprised that it wasn't just Seth McFarlane mindless over the top graphic comedy and actually has character development, some plot stuff and actual good story segments.

I'm not a Star Trek watcher but I do recognize a lot of the things they took from it, but for me it feels like they wanted to do a lighthearted campyish sci-fi show like Stargate feels for me but they had to promote it as a comedy show because a show like that would not get greenlit these days otherwise.

I've surprisingly enjoyed it. It's essentially a workplace comedy set on a spaceship. So the plots of the episodes are actually quite serious (infiltrating an enemy vessel, escaping an alien zoo, that kinda thing), the characters act pretty much like normal people rather than Trek's.

I've heard that it's more classic Star Trek (with more comedy) than Discovery.

I really like it. Don't let MacFarlane's attachment scare you away, it's nothing like his usual fare

I started watching it. Beginning is a bit awkward, like they're checking off boxes. Hope the writing seems more natural. I like the set design and feel so far.

I like it but I admit it feels a lot like Seth is just paying people to LARP Star Trek with him.

That scene where he is introducing himself to the main crew became tedious after the 4th person and he had like 3 to go.

Much much better than STD, but McFarlane's humor does get a bit grating sometimes.
