Surprising to see no topics on Austria's election.

Maybe he'll prove to be different than his predecessors, unlike ol' Frenchy Macron

Macron angered unions last week with comments he made during a visit to a car parts factory, saying workers protesting over job losses should look for work at a nearby plant rather than kicking up a bloody mess.

He said that reforms to overhaul Frances unemployment insurance and professional training systems, which will be discussed in the next few weeks, would help the most in need while encouraging social mobility and merit.

Macron, whose popularity has slumped since his election, said the aim of scrapping the wealth tax was to help to retain talent in France and encourage the wealthy to invest.

For our society to get better, we need people who succeed. We shouldnt be jealous of them, we should say: fantastic, he said.

But the move has prompted opponents to label the former investment banker president of the rich.

1. That's your opinion.
2. Austria's election wasn't tampered with, as far as I know. Him winning means that a majority supports his policies as opposed to those of his opponent(s).
3. Just putting things into perspective. Whether Kurz will do what he says he'll do, and not fall in line like other politicians who claim they'll enact change but then reveal their true colors (the reason why I included Macron and not, say, Merkel or May)

I was not questioning this, but since you brought it up: Austria has a parliamentary system; Kurz's party received 31% of the vote. Him winning does not mean he has majority support.

1. Parliament members are elected by the people.
2. I'm going by google's definition which reads:

majority

noun
noun: majority; plural noun: majorities

1.
the greater number.

Correct. Specifically, 31% voted for members from Kurz's party.
