Lotsa people think he's cheating. That'd be stupid as fuck imo, so I hope not. A lot of fan predictions ended up being way off, one of the more laughable ones being Goku Black being Goten. In that case the most logical explanation was the right one. Same with people thinking the Grand Priest and the angels are secretly evil. At that time, fans were talking about how Beerus is secretly evil or has plans to dispose of them eventually...no, it was just Beerus being cold so the ensuing saga would have more tension and you'd feel like nobody will save the protagonists if they fail. That's not to say there will never be a surprising twist here and there (personally I think Frieza is being built up too much by now to remain entirely evil after this is over), but this isn't going to one of them.
