I was actually arrested once and spent the night in jail over a parking ticket that I did pay. Clerical error, I guess... But since it had been 3 months since I paid it, I didn't have a receipt anymore. I paid cash, so I had no way to prove I paid it. So I had to pay the ticket again plus court fees.
The worst part was that some asshole made me take down the blanket fort I made in my cell.
1/10: would not stay again.

Also, don't ever throw receipts away. Ever.

Where I live they just increase the amount of money until it's in the thousands after a couple of months and they (via court) can take possession of your bank account and/or the contents of your house.

they do where I live. and at bad times too. came up like 8 or 9 o'clock at night to arrest my mom's husband several years back. then the dick acted like he was going to shoot the dogs because he tried walking in without anyone telling him to come in (dude went to grab a coat cause it was cold and of course his ID and shit) and the officer decided like 2 seconds to walk into the house, and naturally the dogs came running and barking.

Yep. I'm not sure if they would have bothered coming to my house over that, but I got stopped for something trivial like a light out and they saw there was a warrant and asked me to step out. I had no fucking clue what was going on since I hadn't actually done anything wrong.

Not much. I was pissy for obvious reasons so I decided to make the best of it and made a blanket fort. The guard was making her rounds and saw it and told me I can't do that.

Ive been arrested twice and Im not about a third time. I payed the ticket today. $165 not too bad
