So most likely no one here will remember, but I shared that I got my first traffic ticket about 6 months ago because I honked my horn 3 times at a person who wouldn't go on a protected left turn when it turned green. Instead of the police officer giving the guy in front of my a ticket for not going on a green light, he gave me a ticket for "honking" because the only time you're allowed to do it (according to the police officer) is when you're about to get into a car accident. If you use your horn for any other reason, it's considered "disturbing the peace". When I asked him what I was suppose to do in the situation I was in, he replied back,"Don't tell me how to do my job." (though to be fair on the officer, he probably misheard me).

So I contested and we went to court, the judge easily dismissed my case when he heard it was on a protected left turn. In normal cases, if I honked on a regular street light I would "justifiably" get the ticket. I guess the police officer conveniently left that detail out, so I was happy I didn't have to pay $270.13 for something so stupid. Though I think I was the only one that won their case, most other people who tried to contest against their tickets lost, except for the ones where the police officer didn't show up.
