Windows 10's Windows Defender was wrecking my PC...
So I downloaded AVG, and it seems to be doing the same thing. It's like the fans just won't stop running. This can't be good for the PC. What is a light weight anti virus I can use that is also free? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

avira I've heard of the same thing happening with both of those... Fuck... never had this issue when I was on Windows 7... My pc is brand new, made in 2017, and came with windows 10. How do install Windows 7 on it? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Even when all I've got is 1 browser tab open, and VLC media player running with just music, it still spikes to 100%... and stays around that amount. It's ridiculous. Wtf man? I'd rather have no anti virus than deal with this shit making my PC lag. But if I turn that off, windows defender will automatically turn itself back on and there's no way I can shut it off on W10 Home unless I install a different av... --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Go without Anti-virus if you're coherent to the point where you can breathe with your mouth closed and know the difference between .rar and .exe

My laptop from 2011 on Windows 10 does not have this problem with Avira. My desktop is also on 10 and also does not have this problem with Avira.
It asks to upgrade daily on each and I find that annoying, but that is all. --- Why is it that he can hit a 3rd baseman on a frozen rope from 300 feet away, but he can't hit a 12 foot tall catcher from 60 feet 6 inches away? -Awesomeo_4000 ... Copied to Clipboard!

And I wouldn't consider $400 bucks to be a budget laptop... This is a problem with WD, and resource hogging AVs... even when I had an Intel laptop, Avast did the same thing in slowing it down.
