People from impoverished countries are far more likely to believe in God than those from wealthy and industrialized nations.

Poorer people in any country are more likely to believe in God than wealthier people.

It's simple, if your life sucks, it's nice to think there's something better waiting for you.

Not that I sympathize in the slightest but when it comes to terrorists, if you live in a desert with nothing, 72 virgins waiting for you sounds nice.

my life sucks and I don't know if I believe in God or not. at least not the kind of God most religions believe in. I think it's either nothing, or some kind of creative energy that doesn't have a mind like we would understand it. Most religions believe in Gods modeled after humans, and I think that's unlikely, especially since we probably aren't the only species in the universe.

Yeah, i have actually noticed that pattern. Not that all people who have shitty life turn into religion, but pretty much all of them who do believe don't have that great life.

Its either due to bad things happening like someone they care/love dying, them going through alcohol/drugs issues, near death stuff like beating cancer, or just being poor with mental health issues.

I haven't met even one religious person who lived balanced hq life.
