I would take being verbally insulted every day over being physically beaten to the point I'm crippled. Yeah, I'm picking the option that doesn't involve harm to my body. Verbal bullying would never affect you at all if you had really thick skin.

Really the only way verbal bullying can be worse is if there's the threat of physical retaliation behind it otherwise you can just give it right back to them. Unless of course, you want them to accept you in which case plain ostracizion would probably be the same thing to them.

It can go both ways.

If you can't handle or cope with the psychological factors of verbal abuse, it can destroy you from the inside out.

If someone physically abuses you, you can just put your hands over your face to protect yourself, or curl into ball. Unless they have a knife or gun.

Assuming this isn't the hood (physical), it's verbal. That shit can't be dealt with in any way by schools. It gets everyone against you and they torment you for years. The damage takes a lot of help over several years to repair. It really isn't as simple as "oh ,wait, those are just words, ha ha, I feel so much better now!"

This really ITT. When you grow up on a with verbal abuse on a daily basis even if it never or only occassionally ended with physical abuse can really fuck with someone's mind depending on the severity.

What if the physical is just pushing you in the hallway, hitting you in the back of your head (not like really hard and with fist), and blocking you from entering class room, and the verbal is constant ridiculing you in front of everyone all the time everyday?

There's different levels of physical and verbal abuse, and I'm pretty sure higher levels of verbal abuse is worse than lower levels of physical abuse.

Exaclty, so how can one say which is worse then? In my opinion they are pretty much as bad. Even if we try to even them out by saying both are extreme, verbal abuse at its worst can lead to suicide, and physical can lead to permanent injuries and also to suicide.

They're both horrible, and I'm pretty sure if we even it out there's a point when they do become equally as bad. But whether or not one is worse than the other ultimately depends on the person and their experiences.

Honestly in addition to my post let's be honest. Physical bullying doesn't happen without verbal bullying.

People rarely (at best) walk around and push random kids into the locker without saying anything and then never do it again.

I was so used to fighting in grade school that physical didn't even really bother me. But making fun of me always really got me upset.
