Long, but worth the watch if you love this song like I do. I don't tend to like reaction videos but I got a big kick out of this because it's exactly how you hope people will react when you show them your jam.

Possible the greatest metal song ever from one of the greatest metal albums of all time, btw. Putting that out there.

I think they have to do that so they don't get copyright blasted. I assume they've listened to it beforehand or something.

Give the album a listen, it won't hurt you. You might break stuff though. Tornado of Souls - maybe the greatest guitar solo ever.

Make sure to get the remaster because while purists will be disgusted I think it brings a lot of bassy depth into the sound as the original is pretty old at this point.

Generally speaking the places to start are Metallica, Black Sabbath and Megadeth.

Metallica - And Justice for All, Master of the Puppets, Ride the Lightning
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Sabbath - Paranoid

You might find Sabbath harder to get into but it's the root of it all basically.

I'm fucking serious and clearly it's not a ridiculous thing to say when pretty much any "best metal solos of all time" includes it very high on the list.

I should clarify, best metal solo. Would be stupid to compare to other types of music.

Why, what's your vote?

Just go with from the Ozzy years: Their Debut album, Paranoid, and Master of Reality.
From the Dio years: Heaven & Hell, and Mob Rules. Everything else Black Sabbath you can skip.

Also, Iron Maiden is also a great place to start out.

On a side note, check out Deep Purple as well. Metal wouldn't what it is today without them.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was awesome, but very different. Worth a listen, for sure, at some point.

Heaven and Hell is the best album by Black Sabbath, period. As much as I love the Ozzy era, nothing touches it.

yeah I really don't like how the video is set up but I do like the song so im enjoying their reaction but yeah, not really a fan of how it is broken up.

all that being said Symphony of Destruction is my favorite Megadeth song, but they have always been 2nd tier of my favorite bands (metallica, tool, alice in chains, sound garden, led zeppelin being my first tier).

S&M is a masterpiece of music bro. Sure it doesn't have flow of a studio album but each song is amazing. It helped me better appreciate a number of the songs from other albums. I didn't especially like Ecstasy of Gold before I heard it on S&M, now one of my favorite songs of theirs and made me absolutely love the original version from the good the bad and the ugly. Of Wolf and Man went from a song I often skipped to a song I absolutely love and becomes a reason to listen to the black album for me.

What's the point of having them react to some of the softest and most easy shit to get into by today's standards of Metal?

Even if you enjoy only hiphop Megadeth still has lots of melody and clean vocals which is easy to get into when compared to bands like Deicide, Suffocation, or Cannibal Corpse who are louder, faster, and harsher than Megadeth by fucking miles

The point of the channel is they're a couple of guys who have basically never listened to metal, trying to see what the appeal is. It's about wholesome entertainment, not shock value.

When you want to introduce someone to something you don't pick the most cerebral and high level cultural examples of it to try and convert them. Stuff like that is just not going to penetrate because it requires significant context to appreciate.

A good example of this is these guys listened to Slayer's Raining Blood and just didn't get it. Of course they didn't get it, they don't know what metal is all about because they've only ever listened to a couple Metallica tunes.

If I wanted to introduce you to Classical Music, I'd show you Beethoven and Mozart and Chopin. I wouldn't show you Ravel or Islamey or Alkan.

KILBOTz said it all already.
