Considering the alpha/beta concept in humans has as much scientific validity as homeopathy, I'd say this question is irrelevant.

i've met some (not many granted) DBZ fanboys i'd rather not get into a fight with. with those guys I think the show motivated them to work out and shit like that.

I love manga & still work out. The stereotypical "Overweight Basement dwelling otaku" is just that, a stereotype. There's nothing stopping you from being health & loving anime, anyone who tells you differently is a complete ass.

Japanese people consider otakus to be losers. Liking anime is totally fine but the term otaku is specifically associated with being a loser with no social skills. It's not the same thing as "nerd" in the West.

I literally told you that the country that originated the term uses it as a pejorative. You can be like one of those people that tries to "take back" words like slut or bitch or the n word or whatever but the entire rest of the world will continue to use the word normally and you'll look back on yourself and wonder what you were thinking.

Depends on the language you speak, here in the Netherlands we apply it to the three branches of science. So I have always said I am /happyproud to be a beta (exact sciences).

Did you read the article? Or the comments? It's some white weeaboo that hangs his argument on dictionary definitions and then says "well culture is really changing all the time so who's to say what's abnormal or not?" as if he's making his point stronger. And then the very first comment is "The only time I ever hear the word spoken by a Japanese person is in conjunction with the words 'gross' and 'weird' and followed by laughter."

You'd have to be blind to not see how the otaku culture is evolving & becoming more mainstream... I'm done arguing with you, good day.
