They're...really hard to get used to, especially in All-Range Mode where it essentially forces you to constantly check both screens. I tried to like them, and even after learning to use them proficiently, nothing made me want to use them over basic Star Fox controls. And sometimes even after you know what you're doing, the camera can be at odds with your movement, or locking onto the boss can make things screwy.
