I grew up playing Sonic, so Sonic Mania appeals to my inner nostalgia but Cuphead actually looked fun after i watched a couple people play it.

Cuphead can get a little tough at times, so if you're not into that go for Mania. Otherwise, Cuphead all the way.

Sonic Mania lasted me a couple of days.

It's really good I give it a 9/10. Although, some of the levels are the ones you probably already played like Chemical Zone and Oil Ocean Zone, but they're remade fantastically.

Cuphead looks different and interesting. I haven't played it, but I've seen the trailers. I would get that game if you're looking for something totally different.

Get Sonic if you're down for some nostalgia with a little twist.

Sonic Mania is the first worthy sequel to S3&K, and it pays tribute to the older games in ways that are clever, surprising and delightful. The game shoots for a retro Sonic aesthetic and absolutely nails it; physics, music, visuals all feel/sound/look pitch-perfect. The gameplay is classic Sonic-- a golden formula from the 90s that still works today. Sonic Mania's alternate paths, alternate characters and other unlockable incentives make the game very replayable.

Cuphead is a wholly original creation and the developer aces the test on their first try. The game delivers a flawless 1930s animation aesthetic; the visuals and music seem like they were lifted straight out of another era. The gameplay is rooted in traditional shmup mechanics and the game is difficult but fair. Expect to spend a very long time earning the highest grades for each level.

You can't go wrong with either one. Play both, eventually, if you can.

The old-new zone ratio is terrible and the Special Stages are garbage

Cuphead is the best game to come out this year and I don't even like run n guns/platformers. the graphics and music just ooze charm, and despite the difficulty, you don't get sick of it easily. it's so good.

The game is still good if you hadnt played Crash, shame about the second part though
