Oh and pricing $649 for standard 64GB and XL is $849. Honestly I like it enough to get one after I pay off my S7 in a few months.

Free online storage for video and photos though. And streaming music is clearly the dominant form of music consumption now, so who really needs 40-50 GB of music at once?

People who might not have unlimited data plan. If I streamed music in my car, I'd max out in a few days.

There are so many different uses for smartphone. It's so ingrained into our lives nowadays that you can't just take still useful shit out and not expect negative reception

Cellphone plans cost money, and unlimited plans are notorious for slowing your speed down. It seems like a waste when you're already paying for internet anyway to not just download them onto an SD card.

Wtf lol my wired headset offers better sound quality than any wireless bullshit I've tested so far. And a great significant portion of the population don't have unlimited because it's perceived that people don't usually use more than a certain amount of data per month.

I'd want to upgrade my smartphone without feeling like it's a significant downgrade

How?

You pair them, that's it. You turn on your headphones and your phone is nearby, they automatically pair up from there on out.

Bluetooth adapter, the best selling one is $15 on Amazon. Hell even if I had a headphone jack I probably would've still used this.

Pairing is a one-and-done thing unless you get a new phone

Most of these batteries last 10-20 hours which doesn't sound like a lot but is a really long freaking time to be listening to something, I never had one run out on me in the middle of doing something

You can get decent quality ones for $40-$60, they're not as elusive as they once were

It's Bluetooth 4.0 which doesn't really drain like it used to anymore; the difference in battery will be negligible.

Taking up the charger doesn't work for me. I need one slot to charge my phone and another for my dashcam.

Edit: I'm seeing adapters with two charging ports built in, but they don't have quick charging.

Most of these adapters last 10-12 hours on battery; I only bring mine in the house once a week or so to charge it.

on the bright side

-cheaper than the iphone 8 and X with on par camera(as well as image stabilization), portrait mode, and AR support
-slightly larger screen sizes, and noticably better screen resolutions
-no wireless charging, but has super fast charging that allows you to charge the phone for 15 minutes for 7 hours battery life
-free $50 home mini preorder
-smart AI.. can tell you what music is playing in the background without opening an app

^^it will include an adapter in the box.. 2 front speakers on the phone, google lens app that lets you identify things in real time when you take pictures of them, it has the same water and dust resistance as iphone 8 and x. Andd unlimited cloud storage for five years

I'm definitely pixel 2 now.

Just haven't decided on pixel 2 or pixel 2 xl, and I wonder if I should upgrade $100 for 64 more GB space

pixel 2
+cheaper than most flagship phones.. at $649
+smaller/can fit easier in pocket
-large top and bottom bezels
-kinda blue color looking sexy, but a verizon exclusive?

pixel 2 xl
+better screen resolution
+1 inch larger screen space, and only half an inch larger in length and .3 inches in width than og pixel
+better battery life than pixel 2xl.
+xl black and white looks pretty sexy
-$200 more is pretty steep at $849 is a bit much. I can afford it, but I find it ridiculous to spend so much on a phone base
-comes out a month after OG pixel 2

https://www.cnet.com/news/pixel-2-pixel-2-xl/

I think I'm gonna head to a verizon store this weekend and have a feel of the size of both OG and XL versions of pixel 2 and then decide which one I'd want to preorder maybe.

They had an amazing deal where you trade in your old Pixel and you get $350 from Google and $325 from T-Mobile making that shit practically free.

Till I realized they changed the term on the free unlimited storage. It's only 3 years now for the Pixel 2 when it was forever.

I have 14 TB of storage. That's about $200/month.

Fuck that. Don't even know what happens to the 14 TB if the offer ends.
