Sam Dushey, the CEO of discount store Shoppers World appeared on the hit show in 2016 as he disguised himself as a new employee to get a real taste of what it's like to work there, spent time with one of the employees, Nalini Singh who worked in the shoe department...He was so impressed by her work ethic but also heard her complaints after 8 years of working there as she was still on minimum wage, losing hours and had no indication of a promotion... She was struggling for cash that she and her husband gave up on their hope of a dream wedding and were just going to married at city hall.. But after revealing his identity, Sam said he was gonna reward her with extra hours, a 15,000 bonus and something even bigger, another 20,000 for big beautiful wedding that she deserved!!... Salini was so delighted to hear the news that she planned her special day immediately right after.. She found the wedding hall, a stunning dress, entertainment, photographers and more....and it rang up to almost 20,000 that Sam had promised... But now she's on camera to say that after she submitted all the necessary invoices to him to honour that, the company FAILED to pay her and IGNORED her request altogether!! Shoppers World insist they are happy to pay but dispute her claims stating she never submitted wedding invoices They said "We asked her on several occasions to submit invoices or receipts for reimbursement or connect us with her vendors so that we could pay them directly for her expenses, of all which she refused to do, asking instead that we pay the full amount to a family member. That is standard company policy when handling expenses related to associates. Had she produced invoices, receipts we would have paid the fees" But Salini said she did send them and jumped through every hoop and says she's disappointed... Shoppers World refused to do an on camera interview regarding the situation..while CBS said they are not involved in the dispute and expects Shoppers World to do the right thing..
