I remember hearing that 8-10 hours is only recommended for kids and teens who are still developing. For regular adults it is like 6 hours or something.

6 hours is good enough for me most of the time but it's more of a quality thing. I have a lot of trouble sleeping, so even 2-3 hours of good, deep sleep will be enough.
