I remember when cosmetic items were obtained through Challenges or codes from beating the game.

Really stupid and funny in my opinion. Imagine if a game like Super Smash Brothers made you pay for different outfits for the characters.

Or the different Weapons/Outfits you can get on a game like Soul Calibur.

Just a cash grab. Oh, well. We live in a new age of video games, where online transactions are much easier to do.

Think of the game Banjo-Tooie. You remember how you could transform Kazooie into a Dragon. Yeah...well I guarantee if the game was made from 2006-present. That transformation would only be accessible through DLC paid content.

What poll?

I would rather all things be unlockable in the game, but I don't bitch about cosmetics as its just visuals, does nothing to enhance the game itself. and very rarely have I played a game where a alternate outfit was a "must have" for me, injustice games are really the only ones where I felt I had to have them, but they go out of their way to change dialogue and VAs for skins that are actually other characters. so in a sense it was like having a new character that was just a clone moveset wise. and i'll always spring for a john stewart skin, not a green lantern fan but hes my favorite green lantern.

well when things change, you can't reasonably expect everyone to be happy about said changes. that goes with anything in life not just video games.

I can agree with your point. I read the options under the poll and just found it hilarious. I love how some companies do it right still nowadays, but most still try for a lame cash grab. Nothings perfect though.
