This isn't one of them: Sx4BSrU

And that's probably one of the harder cosplay subjects out there. Holy shit, it's good.

That's not what I'm talking about. Some pieces are just too obviously plastic or whatever material.

And they just look too clean. It's the difference between looking at the character vs the person in a costume.

You raised a good point there. I've attended Anime Expo in LA about three times and never thought to see how worn the costume look compared to the character.

Yeah, that's the difference between good cosplay and bad cosplay.

I disagree. I've seen good looking cosplay with fake looking parts

never been into cosplay but have looked up cosplay outfits before out of curiosity and it kills me when its a store bought cosplay outfit and the material clearly looks nothing like the material the characters outfit is made of, idk how many times i've seen what was supposed to be cloth but the company made it vinyl or pleather, with a really shiny look, when the characters outfit wasn't shiny at all.

idk, I see a lot of issues. The material on the cloak is waaaaay too thin for a real cloak. It just looks like somebody's bedsheets. Then, as others pointed out, you can see folds in the "skin" part of his shirt and the patches of pink are visibly separate pieces of material. Granted, it's not a bad cosplay, but it's not really a convincing one either.

He's got a good facial expression, though.

The arms are fabric because the pink bits would look absolutely terrible if they were painted directly onto his skin (not to mention needing to be reapplied every time this costume is worn). Fabric folds when bent. Seeing the fold in his arm while it's bent is perfectly fine.

The back of the cloak is probably made of a thicker material than the stuff on his shoulders/chest, since the way it folds up on the floor DOES look like a thick fabric. Take a sheet and hold it above the floor, you won't get folds like that. You'd also probably be able to see through a thin white fabric a bit, but his cloak is totally opaque. The folds on his chest and shoulders don't look so great, but I'd chalk that up to trying to replicate the anime art, which...did not draw fabric elegantly. https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/square_small/10/100757/2136298-piccolovsandroid17..png

I personally think this guy did a really good job, and I'd like to see you do better.

I dunno, this person did a Frieza make up and it looks fairly good.

I think if TC's person has enough skill with makeup, they could pull the namekian skin and bits off well.
