I think I can get the fuck out of this prison island and get on with the main game. I've got the Teleport Ring, which I'm not taking back to the guy. I've been in the jail, killed the magisters that were inside first by going under the Statue, and then I killed some more on the outside that tried to fuck with me when I went out the doors.

I still have my collar on, so I need to get that damn thing off. I'm going to rescue that guy in the cage from the "camp bandit" that lives in the kitchens and I still need to clear the Arena.

So are there any other minor quests and items I should get before I get out of here? I couldn't calm the lady in jail from yelling, so she didn't come out and I think she had some family looking for her. . .And I need to go back around the beach and see if I can find anything that Teleport will help with

If not, I'll get on this boat or raft and get the hell out of here

there are a couple things you can do with teleport. you get to keep the gauntlets, btw, so if you go to the guy then you'll be able to help him and still do more things later
at level 4 you'll unlock the rank 2 skillbooks for all vendors, so keep that in mind if you like to buy/steal them

the arena is the fastest way to get the collar off, but it's only for your main character. this'll also make it so that magisters will try to arrest you (you'll either end up in jail or fight them, per your dialogue choices). once you get out you can find someone who'll take off the rest

have you gone to the elf sanctuary yet? that's pretty important

and uh, you can go back here once you leave. just be aware that some questlines end if you leave, and all magisters aggro on sight if they see you

Alright, thanks

I'm doing a Lone Wolf game, so I only need my collar taken off, and no, I don't think I have been to an Elf Sanctuary yet. Thank you, the map in the game can drive me nuts because I expect more symbols to mark things like stores, but they don't, lol. I really need to find some people that do sell some things

Thanks again, I'm going to start it up and look around to see if a I see anything else. I'm also happy to see that I'll get to keep the ring if I go back to him. I thought he might take it from me and the ring's power is more than some extra EXP to me right now.

Hmm, I wonder if I can get to Level 4 before I leave. . .I can kill the Kitchen Thugs for some, maybe get some from minor quests and of course doing the Arena.

that teleport guy is the aerothurge vendor, teleport is a rank 2 aerothurge skill
so if you wait to get to level 4, you'll be able to buy teleport from him and you won't even need the gloves

oh, I see in your other topic you're undead.
you're gonna want to tap into geomancy, at least for the first rank, so you can create poison puddles

No, this is a new run, lol. I've played about 12 hours of the game, but I only have a two-hour save as my longest IN GAME time. I always restart these games over a lot until I find a build I really like, and this is the guy I'm sticking with.

Human (Level 3)

Strength - 20
Finesse - 10
Intelligence - 10
Constitution - 12
Memory - 10
Wits - 16

Warfare - 4
Polymorth - 2 (For extra stats, only these two)

Barter - 1 (Human trait)
Lucky Charm - 2

Ingenious
Lone Wolf
Picture of Heath
Thrifty

I'm using a Two-Handed War Hammer right now, but I think I'm going to make the Switch to One-Handed as soon as I find some better One-Handed Swords. But Two-Handed is working really well for me, so I might just stick with it.

What the hell, does the Teleport guy screw you over or am I doing it wrong? He tells me to teleport him down near the cave, but when I do, he just tells me good luck without his help like he's pissed at me. I don't think he's screwing me over, I think he's pissed I'm damaging him from the drop of the Teleport spell.

Hmm, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Anyways, I am Level 4 now. The Elf Sanctuary you guys were talking about, is that the cave with the bratty child that wants to play tag and introduce me to his "friend" that I already save the soul of? Which I also think I fucked up, I think I might have kept his soul or something and gave it back to him? Hell if I know, too late to go back now. Speaking of too late to go back, the guy in the cage died during the battle with the Kitchen Thugs. . .I didn't even notice until I went to go and free him

I beat the Arena as well, but I have no idea who the "Tinkerer" is to remove it. Also, the lady that lost her daughter attacked me on sight when I got near her. No idea why, but she's dead now, lol

There's no "wrong" way to play to be honest, there's a billion outcomes for all the stuff you can do in game, hell if you MURDER everything, good or bad, the game still has measures for that so you can continue the story.

Speaking about skills though... yeah you can fuck up if you put 1 point into everything every level, for act 1 focus on 1-2 skills and carry on.

Note that at the beginning of act 2 you can get a full infinite reset so do whatever really.

There's a ledge right under where you stand on the cliff. That's where he wants to be teleported

Yep, I get that. I mean that it's screwing up my RP because I'm trying to be nice and save people in this run, and I'm failing so far, lol

I mean the teleport dude is clearly playing you, unless RP'ing as a nice guy also includes being treated as a tool?

Eitherway, he wants you to teleport him to the stone ledge where the stump is, then across the gap on top of the other ledge.

though... i don't know how a nice guy RP would react knowing the dude dies thanks to you if you tele him where he wants

well if you teleport your party over ahead of him you can end up saving him. not that it seems to do anything

and TC can't do this because he's doing a solo run anyway

I also have a few questions while I'm thinking about them -

Any way to run a bit faster? I'm sure Hate would work, but I don't have the spell. . yet

What are the backpacks for? Just extra space when you're full?

Will my Shovel ever break?

Speaking of which (puts on fire-proof ring), I'm using the contro. . .[avoid eye contact] the controller to play. I don't see a way to see if a new weapon is better than my old weapon. With the mouse, as I've seen on YouTube, it just has the windows side by side and you easily just look at them. But with the controller you have to back out of the store, open up your Inventory, look at your weapon, and remember the numbers/stats, and the go back to the store and compare. Dives me insane, but maybe I'm just not seeing something that's clearly there, lol

it's an RPG, there's no reason why someone would look down on you for using a controller...

shovel doesn't break, you can't run faster as far as i know and backpacks are pretty much endless space bags to hold shit so it doesn't clutter your inv, i pretty much use them to store crafting mats and such

Alright, thanks

And there are plenty of people that will look down on me for using a controller, but perhaps no one will say anything. Every thing just looks so much simpler with the mouse and keyboard when I watch YouTube videos. They seem to be able to do more tricky shit than I can. I just can't get use to it enough to use it. I tried it once and I didn't even know how to rotate the camera =x

you click in the middle button to rotate the camera

but yeah, so long as you're happy with the controller then don't worry

speaking of backpacks dedicate one for nades, one for scrolls, etc etc

it will auto sort your inventory much nicer if you do that as well as save you barspace as you can just drag a backpack to your bar and using it in combat allows you to select which nade/scroll/etc inside to use iirc

Installing the game now. Can't fucking wait.

I'm thinking of my lead being an Inquisitor/Metamorph. I want a melee magic guy who can use all these touch spells and fuck up people with Necromancy. Throw in some polymorph for additional fun and beat the shit out of people with a staff.
I want a backstabbing Shadowblade character. They'll have the invisibility and sneak behind people and fuck them up with dual daggers scoundrel style.
I want a Ranger character. Huntsman/Warfare/Geo/Pyro just chilling in the back/up high attacking people and healing Fane.
And yes, I want Fane. Not sure what I should do with him. Maybe he can be a Summoner who does all kinds of CC stuff.
I also want Lohse. I think Beast makes the best Shadowblade with the Dwarvish attributes. I'm thinking I'll go custom character, so maybe even undead. Hmm.

Any thoughts / tips?

Yeah, Fane makes a great Summoner if you dip a bit into Poison (Geomancer)and Water (Hydrosophist) since you can cast Rain and then turn it into Poison Rain with Contamination, thus hurting the mobs and healing yourself, and this only takes a single level in each of those two skills. Then you can go full Summoner (Cast of a Poison Surface, get a Poison Familiar) or whatever you want

Your MC looks fine, but I personally would go with a Spear because it seems to fit the Cthulhu theme. Never read a single book by HP Lovecraft though, lol

You can change the difficulty of the game in the gameplay settings in the options. Well, that or perhaps you want to experience it from the beginning like in the first Original Sin.

I am playing the game on classic and it is fine for me, lol.

You can't switch it up to Honor Mode in the middle of a game and you can't bump it down from either Tactical or Honor. You can only change it from the Normal to Story, Story to Normal or Normal to Tactical
