I think it is? I mean what as everybody doing with the home computers that they bought before the internet came around? What would people be doing now on their computers if it wasn't around?

The web is 20-30 years old. I think the internet in general is 50+. Otherwise, I agree that it's up there.

It does bring some bad with it (as many highly influential / widely used inventions do), but it has brought a ton of good too, like greater access to information, easier communication, more convenient shopping, great entertainment/media, etc. It has impacted all aspects of our lives more or less, for good or bad.

Being completely honest, I can't think of any invention that has changed the world more....maybe the harnessing of fire....

The internet honestly sucks and the world would be a better place without it.

That said, it's probably the most important thing since the birth of modern industry.
