Like what is the point of buying an expensive car that drives fast when you can't even drive over the speed limit? Or what is the point of having an expensive ass car that will pretty much drive the same as any other car with the exception of acceleration and brake differences?

I can understand buying a brand new car means just having a brand new fresh car that you won't have to fix or replace any part for at least a year or two, but my dad bought a truck and he had to get a part replaced 2 months afterward. The only reason why I would see it as logical to buy a new car would be to get a state of the art engine, and no miles driven.

So please explain to me why someone would buy an expensive car? You could use that 100,000 dollars on a car to make some orphan kids happy by giving them birthday and christmas presents

there are a lot of points you can make.

first of all, people drive over the speed limit every day. and even if you don't even go over the limit, fast acceleration can be quite a thrill.

of course, you don't need a $100,000 car to drive fast. something that expensive, well, people buy it because they can afford it. you understand that rich people like to spend money, right? but super expensive cars ought to be fun at least. so in the end there are much more pointless displays of wealth, like jewelry, and art trading.

If I was incredibly wealthy I'd probably buy a Tesla tbh. I wouldn't buy a sports or race car though.

They live in Germany, where they're smart enough with the autobahn to realize that speed limits aren't as important to safety as people staying in the slow lane when they should...

An expensive car definitely doesn't give the same driving experience as a cheap one, but I'm not rich enough to know how much you spend before you get diminishing returns. But I know riding in my sister's Audi is a much smoother experience than in my mom's Nissan.
