He's about 7 months now. Remember a couple weeks ago I said he got into this annoying phase where he pees everytime I put his leash on?

Yep still hasn't stopped. He's literally become this dog that's like shaking everytime he has to go out. Sometimes he will refuse to move. We read online to not go crazy on him. So we've been going really slow, we go low, we try giving him treats. Nothing works. Today I just lost my fucking cool and I was yelling at him. I put his leash on and he's pissing all over the floor and it's spraying everywhere.

I don't know what else to do. The vet couldn't find anything. I'm taking him to get neutered soon and if it's not doing anything. I don't know what else to do. I've never had a dog like this and neither has my girlfriend

Can't live like this. We're spending so much time just cleaning his piss. Everything stinks like piss, were vacuuming and rug washing several times a day.

Ugh rant. He's either submissive peeing or he's fucking excited peeing

Yeah it's just stupid that he's been perfect since week 8 and didn't even piss anywhere when he wasn't potty trained. Now he just lost all bearing

Well right now we live in a third floor apartment so we have to go through an elevator.

But tomorrow we are moving to Vegas and we have a pretty big first floor unit. So I hope this takes care of it

i know you're using hyperbole in your title but you shouldn't

you may want to start differentiating 'outside to potty' from 'outside for a walk'

just scoop him and take him outside (backyards are best, any fenced pee area will cut it) to potty. attach leash after for a full walk.

having a 'backyard' area will help a lot.

My dog was the first chewer we'd had and wound up racking up over $5k in damages and surgery bills her first year of life. But she's a wonderful dog, and grew out of the chewing.

Problem pissing is minuscule. Puppies are hard work, ffs, calm down and try harder

I have a 6 year old dog, raised from a 7 week old puppy. I have a number of friends that have done the same. I fully understand the challenges in raising puppies. Not only is a 7 month old dog not really a puppy anymore, but you've been unable to resolve this after weeks of work. Potty training is dog raising 101. It's one thing to have to deal with a shelter dog with years of psychological issues, but a puppy is a clean slate. If you can't resolve something as simple as peeing outside, that doesn't bode well for the dog in the long run.

Because this forum filled with no life experienced people think because I yelled at a dog with that it should be given to a pound. Does that mean if a parent ever yells at their child they should give it away?

It sounds like the puppy is confused by what's going on. Possibly because of the elevator.

Does (s)he pee every time the leash is put on?

Maybe try having it wear the leash around the apartment? Also, just for sanity you could try picking it up until you get outside.

Basically every time. Sometimes I'll sneak it on when he's sleeping and he won't pee. And I have, I let him wear the leash around the apartment for a bit and he ended up just peeing all over them and I had to get new ones

I could try picking him up but he's in such a submissive phase I don't even touch him anymore or he just pees everywhere. Happy, scared, whatever he's peeing. If I even look at him and say goodboy and give him a treat he starts peeing

No actually if you read the topic I guess nobody did. This just started and he was fine. He would have a spot designated outside for poop and pee and then suddenly overnight a couple weeks ago he just started to act weird

Week 8-6 months he never had potty problems

She used to pee and shit everywhere when I was at work.

If you haven't already get in the habit of using specific phrases when you're doing something so he associates it with what's happening.

Kerbey can take herself outside to "go potty." She knows to get in the "backseat" to sit down.

Etc.

He's actually good by himself. He's probably alone once a week for 4 hours at most. But he's great. He's never once peed or pooped while we were gone. He's very good at listening to commands just whatever the fuck is going on with him right now is stressful as all hell
