Hell I was thought of as either a outlaw, drunkard or drug addict because I listened to Rock music.

Country music fans are viewed as being only white, racists, supremacists or ignorant.

What makes Rap fans exclusive ?

I remember hearing this in the radio about a week ago.

I don't believe that one causes the other, just that both are part of an overarching culture in some communities.

I wouldn't be surprised. Mainstream rap glorifies violence like it's something to be proud of. Hell, I'm sure there are people who are actually happy about a study suggesting such.

And I say this as someone whose favorite genre is rap.

I wouldn't say it glorifies it. Its like the news, it is what it is, and musical expression makes it easier to deal with things like that. Like if you're angry is it better to just go around punching people or would it be better to express it in a song? I think we know which one is more productive.

I disagree. Rap absolutely glorifies a violent lifestyle. If it didn't, half the rappers that aren't real bangers wouldn't portray that they are--assuming your point is rappers are typically angry people expressing their violent tendencies versus acting on them.

well yeah there ARE idiots for sure that just want to bang, but there is a faction of rappers that use it as an artistic outlet and that's what I identify with. Kendrick Lamar is a good example. Like you have to tell your truth for artistic integrity which unfortunately is pretty negative and growing up in a violent world. That's not glorifying it. These folks didn't choose this life, but they have to deal with it the same, have a little compassion.

I suppose if you lived an easy, simplistic life then it would be hard to understand.

I found this interesting though..

Common signs include superficial charm, a grandiose notion of self-worth, the need for stimulation and impulsiveness, pathological lying, the ability to manipulate others and a lack of remorse and empathy.

You have no idea about my life so you can kill it with the assumptions.

Have a little compassion for rappers bragging about killing? No, they didn't choose the lifestyle. They just choose to constantly talk about it as if it's something to be proud of--and that's assuming they actually came from that background.

What kind of mental gymnastics are you even trying here?
