Do you mean Midway Arcade Treasures?

Or did someone else grab the IP rights to Midway's games (which gives me hope that maybe their OG Xbox games will be made backwards compatible on Xbox One)?

Nope, there was a PS3 / 360 release as well, though I only found out it existed today when I saw a copy in a local store. Most of the included titles are games from the previous compilations, though no Mortal Kombat stuff or the better racing games from 3. The only new addition was Vindicators Part II.

I can't play my PS2 stuff (my PS2 died recently then my PoS brother decided to steal my PS2 controllers since "I don't need them") so this collection is tempting. It still has Defender, Gauntlet, Joust, Rampart and Smash TV. Only lacking the San Francisco Rush games from 3 and the Mortal Kombat trilogy which had another compilation on PS3 anyway.

Edit - And seems it was poorly known since it was the last release from that developer. Same guys who did the Midway Arcade Treasures releases at least.

Origins is listed here as a PS3/X360 release. The MATreasures releases are on PS2/Xbox/GCN/PC. If it has the game(s) you're looking for, I'd say it's worth it -- I can't imagine any of them go for a high price. It looks like you'll get the biggest selection on Origins, but it would have been nice if it included all the games that were on the three MAT releases.

Indeed. With everything there, I probably wouldn't hesitate even without knowing how well they are emulated.

Super Off Road and Vindicators II are the only ones on Origins that aren't on MAT1&2. I should probably pick up MAT3, but with only 8 games on it, it needs to be dirt cheap.

The original arcade Gauntlet games only.

I always wanted to try the reboots for PS1 / PS2 gens. I only played the classic stuff (my favourite being IV on Mega Drive) and the most recent reboot.

That was an awesome one, even if just for a few games on it. It at last had the advantage of a number of games being more along the standards expected at the time. I do love my classic games, but a compilation with newer arcade games was awesome as well.

They need to make things like this, but compilations of games from the PS1 and PS2 era. I'd want to pick that up solely for Shadow Hearts Covenant!!!

I have that and the following game, but still lack Shadow Hearts and the PS1 game related to them, starts with a K if I remember correctly.

I did play that a lot on PC in the early '90s to the point where I would win every race. I would hope the arcade version is much harder (or maybe I was playing on a low difficulty setting and didn't realize it).
