it's kind of a shame that it's considered a chick flick by some. I didn't even know that at the time. I guess stuff like American Pie is considered a dude flick though so fair's fair.

Just because it's a chick flick, doesn't mean it's bad or that guys can't enjoy it. There are good chick flicks and bad ones. I'd say that Mean Girls' main target audience is women but the humor is universal. Tina Fey is a genius.

Though it really just depends on how you define the term (which has no clear definition and is considered derogatory by some).

Yeah that's the point. Some people have automatically negative perceptions of them but stuff like Sixteen Candles and Pretty Woman are considered chick flicks yet are also good films. Many people consider chick flicks to be something: marketed towards women, with a female protagonist, and dealing primaruly with romance (Mean Girls has 2/3 IMO). It doesn't have to be sappy at all.

Definitely didn't imply chick flick meant bad, just that it's generally what I would associate with heavy romance and light on the comdedy. Like I don't see Bridesmaids as a Chick flick (though I didn't like it) despite the female cast.

Nah, those characteristics make a movie objectively worse. Sappy drama is bad drama. Just because some people like it and it's easy to market to (just like those brain dead action flicks) doesn't mean that it's only bad to certain people. It's bad period.

No, ya see, that's your opinion stated as a fact. The main point of entertainment is to... entertain and if people get enjoyment out of it being sappy, then that's good for them. Formulaic models exist because people like a preidctable format. That doesn't make it bad, it's just different.

There's been decades of research and study into film as an art form and to reduce it all to a matter of opinion is simply ridiculous. You can have good entertainment and bad entertainment, and there's plenty of people who work hard to tell the difference.

If your goal is to pump out brain dead crap, make money and get laughs from idiots and you accomplish that, then good for you. But artistically, you didn't make a good film.

And there's plenty of objective metrics like plot consistency, editing, visuals, and acting ability that can help indicate a quality of the film.

Went on a date, was a good time until she asked me if ive seen any other girls since we last went on a date, which was back in March.

Now, she told me after that date that she saw me as a friend and it was too awkward. Even though we did...stuff.

So i moved on and such, because i mean, duh.

So lately weve been flirting alot and she said she feels different now and that she sees me now as a bf so i said fuck it, asked how out again

But yeah, she didnt like that ive seen another girl. Apparently i needed to lie and tell her no.
