I intended to make this thread yesterday, but I got caught up in the despair.

Ended up playing V3 for ~6 hours with only a single half hour break, then I woke up this morning before class to play this morning as well. Suffice to say the hype is real.

I'm up to Chapter 2 right now. Not sure how many have this, but those of you that do can share your thoughts here. MARK SPOILERS and please do a courtesy listing of what Chapter the Spoiler is from.

It's $40 instead of $60 on PS4 or Steam. Load times are the only major difference from what I've heard. The Vita also has some weird bugs and issues with the audio, but there's a patch and1.5 gb free download to fix this.

But like I said, I'm cheap and have a small sd for my Vita (Well, PSTV) so I couldn't download all of it

I'm about to start the first trial. I think I've figured it out. Imma be sad if I'm right, because it was way too easy, and I really don't want the killer to be who I think it is.

Vita is both. Yeah the pricing is weird, but the Steam version probably has the PS4 additions.

If you were thinking it was Shuichi, I thought they were making it too obvious it was him,
so I thought against it. But no one else made sense until you had to choose the only other person who knew about the speaker thing, then the answer was obvious. One hell of an opening and easily the best DR first chapter imo

First Trial.

I actually thought it was Miu. I figured she used her drone to navigate high and drop the ball. I'm really glad I was wrong, because I didn't want it to be her. Shuichi doing it never even crossed my mind until they started on it in the trial. And hell yeah, that was one hell of an opening. Threw a real curve ball that I never expected.

About to start the Second Trial.

Only finished 1st trial so far, Major spoilers for the main story, and potential spoilers for Ryoma possibly? I wouldn't recommend this be read but...

I heard from somewhere, either promotion stuff, the demo, or website that he killed mafia with a iron ball + tennis racket, so I banked on Ryoma being the culprit by lobbing the Shot put with a racket or something. It's dumb, I know, but eh.

I simply didn't suspect Kaede because I thought she had MC level plot armor. Still suspicious of that trial

I don't know how the hell people said it took them "60 hours" to beat the game. I'm a little less than 15 hours in and I'm up to chapter 4's trial. Pretty sure there's only 5 or 6 chapters, so something isn't adding up...

Not to say I'm upset by this as I prefer shorter experiences, but even 40 hours seems inflated as hell.

I just started the 1st investigation (literally just started, haven't found a single clue yet), but I hope it's not the obvious Ryoma dropped the ball from the bookcase because he's small enough to fit in the vents. They spent too much time talking about the vents for it to not be extremely important. I just keep having flashbacks to Danganronpa 1's first case, where 11037 was the most obvious clue ever in a game, and I spent the whole case hoping that it wasn't Leon.

I don't know if the game was leading me on, but also like in D1 with how your buddy/love interest was the first to die, every time Shuichi went off on his own during the camera plan I said "your gonna die! Don't leave! They're not afraid to kill of a seemingly important character." I'm happy they didn't do that again though, except the person who did die I was expecting to stay around towards the end.

I love the game so far, but one thing that's slightly annoying me is how many K names there are. Kaede, Kokichi, Keebo,Korekiyo, Kirumi, Kaito, it's so hard remembering all they're names.

Kaito might kill Kokichi before Kokichi gets a chance to execute whatever plan he's brewing since Kaito knows he's on the verge of dying anyway with the bleeding and all. My heart might melt if that turns out to be true.

Good luck. This is one hell of a ride that doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. I thought chapter 4 was rough, but apparently chapter 5 somehow tops that. And I thought chapter 4 was the best chapter in the series!

Once again, seems like there is an obvious solution, but being Danganronpa, I feel as though they won't follow the obvious path. Adding in a certain someone really trying to influence Shuichi, I don't trust this. This whole thing is fishy as hell. But I was proven wrong on the obvious in the last chapter.

Also still very upset at the victim. That's so sad.

No problem. I knew it wasn't intentional and that's why I wasn't mad. Also at the pace I'm going, I'd likely forget or not even notice by the time I get there.

Just finished the first trial. I said in my last post about how the other games showed they're not afraid of killing major characters, they outdid themselves on that one though.

Fourth Trial intermission.

Before going in the virtual world, they mentioned messing up the cords could cause a body swap. I feel that's the kind of thing that doesn't get mentioned unless it's important. Current standing theory, a body swap occurred. I'm betting the victim and someone else aren't who we think.

Fun stuff, right?

On the final chapter now, and I don't want to be too hasty since I hear the final chapter is highly divisive, but so up through chapter 5, I'd say this is my favorite game in the series. It just hits all the right beats from the gameplay to the characters, to the trials.

Even though before I would say DR2 was better, without spoiling much, I didn't like many of the character motivations, but that is definitely fixed in this game.

I still HATE the Psyche Taxi, but at least it's short and you generally only have to do it once or twice per case. Feels like a waste of time tbh but whatever.
