I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart 8, the portability is a nice idea but I wouldn't leave the house with it. It's not like a gameboy where you can just slip it in your pocket

Does the game even have any good non-ports? ARMS got shit on. BotW isn't technically a port, but it can be bought on Wii U.

I love it, particularly the portability aspect. I've gotten more use out of it than I did my Wii U in significantly less time.

BotW is my favorite game but Mario + Rabbids is really good as well. Sunk a ton of time into Disgaea 5 and BoI too if we're talking ports.

I was just playing Rabbids on the plane a few days ago. I also love the portability for games like Blaster Master and indie games. Games like BotW I think are better experienced on TV.

Portability aspect is pretty nifty, especially for the ease of bringing a whole console (and all data etc) to a friend's house.

Playing the holy shit out of PuyoTet, easily the most time I've spent on anything on it. (Not an exclusive, but it's only available digitally on Switch so it might as well be IMO)

-It's nice, but it's still fading in comparison to my vita. The library is just too sparse for me to use the switch as my primary toilet machine

-Breath of the wild, by far. Also played snipperclips, splatoon, disgaea, and sonic mania which were fine but didn't hold my attention very long

-they're fine. Nothing to complain about.

I bought it knowing I was probably not going to use it much until Odyssey. I just wanted to secure one so I didn't have to worry about it later.

-I do like the portability of it, if only because I get to flaunt it in other rooms of my house, or more notably, take it with me to the bathroom.

-When buying it, I wasn't sure I was even going to get a game with it at all, but then I saw they had Puyo Puyo Tetris and remembered I really wanted to try that game out, so that remains the one game I own for it. It's very fun.

-Can't really answer this one for you.

The portability is convenient for like playing on my bed or bathroom or something, but it's a little too big to take with you in your pocket (and I'd be afraid of scratching the screen). I very much hope that it doesn't actually replace Nintendo's dedicated handhelds.

Well, ARMS got a positive response so I don't know where you're getting that from, but even discounting that, yes. Splatoon 2, Snipperclips, Mario + Rabbids, and plenty of multiplatform games including Breath of the Wild.

Anyway, the system is great so far, the portability is a huge boon for console games. The UI is great and the early games lineup has been very string. It needs some functionality improvements like video streaming, but as a gaming system it's great.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best game I've played for it (having played Breath of the Wild on Wii U), I never got the DLC and this version is the best game in the series. The ports have been good from what I've seen. Nintendo's two first party ports (MK8D and Pokken) are substantial improvements over the originals. Third party ports mostly seem good, it's the best place to play Sonic Mania for instance.

I love the portability. I got to play Zelda: BotW during a very travel heavy work schedule. But I don't consider it a make or break thing. I still widely prefer playing it on TV.

Favorite game is obviously BotW. Splatoon 2 is the only other game worth owning (not counting ports).

I have high hopes for the system. Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are scheduled to release this year which would mean one of strongest launch years for any system. With more games coming up like Metroid Prime 4, possibly a New Smash, Dragon Quest XI, a New Tales of game and many others, this might very well be one of Nintendo's best systems library-wise.

it's pretty good. BotW is terrific, and I have Mario Kart, Mario Rabbids, Snipper Clips and Kamiko, all of which are decent enough though I haven't really found them to be major draws for me. Mario and Xenoblade 2 are coming. So it's honestly a great 2017 for the console. It's been a bit expensive.

The portability is nice, I don't use it a ton, but it's been pretty good when I have wanted it.

Ive been actively using it on my lunch breaks at work or with the kids who come to our library. Their eyes go so wide when I split the joycons and offer them a controller to play Mario Kart with me.

I really like the system and the portability. I just wish I had more games to play on it (money is tight right now). So far I've played Kamiko and Sonic Mania, both a lot of fun.

my mistake

I haven't pulled the trigger on the switch because the lack of exclusives I'm interested in

Super Mario Oddyssey looks great but I don't think thats enough. I already got Mario Kart, I don't really feel like buying a system for Zelda when I have a Wii U that can run it. Arms looks neat but not neat enough. USFII is overpriced, especially since I bought that game (minus the 2 characters) for 15 bucks on the 360

I think the system is neat but logically I don't need it. Also the money thing too

The portability is amazing, but it's not a "put in your pocket" type of system. I always bring it in a carrying case. That may sound disappointing, but still, the ability to take the system to anywhere you want to go and play console-style games easily is still a major selling point. It's not something I'd play on a bus, but it's great to take with you to some places if you know you'll have some free time there.

Also, something that's really understated is its ease with multiplayer. There are a lot of great multiplayer games out already for it, many of which can be played with just one Joycon. It's so great to just bring the system with you and get people to play rounds of Mario Kart, Puyo Puyo Tetris, or Sonic just by handing them a controller without having to set anything else up.
