I mean, when it comes to relationships it's sort of true. In a lot of Asian societies, while on paper it might seem like men hold most of the power, in practice women tend to be the ones in charge at home. At least in China and the Phillipines, and most likely Japan too, women are a lot more desired than men are, so women have more holding power over the relationship. Men in Asian culture also tend to rely on the women to do most of the housework since they are usually incapable of doing it themselves. Asian culture also places a huge value over raising children and since most children prefer their mother women also get a bigger benefit there. And if a man tries to oppose both a woman and a child they're likely to be seen as a domestic abuser and contrary to what many westerners think, domestic abuse is taken quite seriously in Asia and can severely lower your reputation if you're not arrested. At the end of the day, unless they're an Alpha/narcissist/extremely successful man (which most men aren't), men tend to be henpecked husbands than not, especially if there are kids.
