Don't drive to work and commute is hella far on public transportation.

It's 30 minute call.

I don't want to use a conference room and work in a cubicle.

I'm in the city and don't know where I can go for privacy.

Ugh do I just take half a day vacation!?

Why not just use a conference room? That's what I always did. At absolute worst go to your car and talk on your cell phone.

Do you think it's unethical?
I told you I commute an hour on public transportation going home or car is not an option.

I took my phone interview for my current job during my lunch break of my previous job. The 30 mins or so that the interview lasted was enough time - I had just gone outside so I was away from my department.

Is it a phone screening or an actual phone interview

I've been interviewing for the past month, I would just step outside the building where you work and take the calls

It's actually a phone screening. So should I not make a big deal out of it?

I work in the city there are people screaming and talking and fighting outside. Way too much noise.

I found a place for 25 bucks for an hour room. Is it worth it?

just step outside, head into a conference room, go to a Starbucks, etc. it's no big deal. dont take a vacation day for a phone call, save that for the interview.

Most big cities have conference rooms you can rent by the hour. Check out one of those.

Yeah I found one for 25 dollars. Thank you!

No I don't think it's unethical. Why would it be?

And my bad on the car suggestion, I forgot you said you take public transportation.

Using company resources. Idk also I would feel distracted like someone is listening. I'm pretty paranoid about things so feel like I would mess it up.

Meh, I'm using company resourced right now to post on Gamefaqs, no one really cares. Unless they specifically said that you can't then I don't see the problem.
