I'm more of a novel kind of guy, but lately? I've been craving the blend of great art and great writing, hence my turning to comic books.

I've been reading a lot of Image stuff.

This series is pretty great:

True. Bad art can really turn me away from a book.

As in Batman Detective Comics. The Batfamily gets a lot of development here.

I really like Clay Mann's art. Especially in the Gambit solo series:

I love seeing how people make stories work visually.

these two panels from the One Piece manga have the best use of a speech bubble that I've ever seen:
Pthgfm6

but I'm not super familiar with the genre either. kinda trying to read more graphic novels and such

Thanks for sharing, man.

That was great =D

It's been such a long time since I've read manga. I should probably start with One Piece. Is the series still going on? Or did it finally finish?

I love me some comics. Haven't really read much in awhile though.

Last comic book you read?

I like them as long as the art is good. Some artists are just quite inspiring in the images they draw:

Still reading Angel: After The Fall

I want to read previous X-Men comics but I do not know where to start. I'll just stick with reading summaries.

it's still going. getting close to 900 chapters now. it can be kinda intimidating to get into, but I'm still really enjoying it

if you haven't read them already, I also highly recommend Persepolis, Maus, and The Adventures of Jimmy Corrigan the Smartest Kid on Earth

the comic book industry would have been so much more better and diverse if only DC/Marvel didnt clog up 90% of it with superhero s***.

Although I don't have a problem with them at all, never got into superheroes or anything. I'm guessing if I lived in Japan, I'd casually pick up manga since it would be everywhere. I also don't like the culture in America around them. Just off putting.

i have absolutely no interest in comic books. ive tried reading a few but i feel like the pacing/structure is weird for most of them due to how fast you can burn through a comic, and most of them seem to be super hero related, which doesnt capture my interest at all. the only comic ive ever really enjoyed is Watchmen
