One guardian did the main work, with the help and support of all the others and the entire vanguard. Technically, the other guardians are off fighting the war against the Darkness/Red Legion the entire time your off doing recon and spitting in Cthulu's eye.

Ugh, no that's not true. The first fucking scene in Destiny 2 involves Zavala, Ikora, and Cayde all using light based powers. Them losing their 'light' is the whole story arch for the vanguard. In fact, Zavala explicitly mentions that other guardians have lost their light besides the Vanguard when he tells you to turn back when you arrive on Titan.

I don't know where people are getting this cockamamie idea that only your guardian has the light. I think they are confused because technically it's only your guardian that beat the Darkness/Red Legion, but it pretty explicitly states that all guardians have the light. It's also mentioned by Shaxx when he says something along the lines of, "their light was just stronger than yours!".

...

yes, you literally just proved me right.

the entire story is about giving the light back to everyone, while you are the only one with light still. you don't even have to look in game, in all the bungie interviews and reveals they also state as much. so where is this actual proof you have that others have light

and nothing shaxx says makes sense given the lore of anything, so lmao at using him as an example. it's just his lines from d1.

Ha, no, you are right. I was thinking Destiny 1 and thought you were implying that your guardian is the only one that had light.

Also, I don't think you can just dismiss Shaxx because he sort of goes against what you are saying (though, I'd think that the crucible would canonically take place before and after the Red War).

i'm more of the opinion that the crucible isn't canon to anything, because it doesn't make sense for it to.

My assumption is more that the Crucible is technically supposed to take place chronologically after the events of the main game, when global events are at a lull.

Then again, I think Destiny is ass so I don't put too much thought into it.

Like I said before, I get the idea that it takes place after/before the game. Backing this theory is that the similar Strike activities are canonically after the main campaign.

I'm D2, strikes take place before the end of campaign canonically, in d1, they take place during the campaign, too.

im D2, shaxx tells you to get in the crucible when you are legitimately the only person with light still.

That's why it doesn't super make sense

I've got to check, because I'm fairly certain at least one of them references Ghaul being dead or The Almighty being destroyed.

A giant space-ball thing already hangs over my city every day. Spits out tonnes of radiation thanks to its internal power structure.

I've taken to calling it the sun. It's not actually that bad once you get used to it.

But it's not like we have multiple suns. In that case, then, the title of this topic could be interpretted that way. It'd be like living on Planet Namek or Trisol I imagine.

Also, in favor of the post-Red War multiplayer theory, at least one of the maps is located in somewhere that isn't available until after, such as Emperor's Respite.

There is also the possibility that it is a simulation.
