I hate rape as a plot device, but it's better than Star Wars using a virgin birth narrative. It doesn't fit the Star Wars canon, it takes away from Luke's humble origins in the original trilogy, and it's disrespectful.


I'd be relatively okay with Snoke being revealed as the one who impregnated Anakin's mother and wiped her memory of the incident.

Palpatine talks about it in episode 3, and it's heavily implied that Plagueis' attempts to use midichlorians to create life are what lead to Anakin's birth - which would also explain why his midichlorian count was so high
